    FC losing Liberty Fields

Rumor is that FC Portland will not longer have access to Liberty and now are scrambling.

    Key word here is "rumor".

FC struck a deal with Liberty regarding field usage years ago. Yes, the agreement has a timeline, but FC is certainly not "scrambling". FC has been appropriately planning for next phase field usage and is looking to acquire property (one option, as I understand it, is Liberty-adjacent).

    Think this thread is DOA.

School districts are under a lot of pressure from growing school based programs.

Also heard there was some property by UofP that they were going to develop. Sounded like a done deal. Would work good for us Vancouver types.

They have 10 years to find something else. Lots of fundraising over the next decade which started with the big "ball" last month.

Spring is always tough as all of the teams in the club are active, FC hosts the U10 league on Sundays, and there is now HS lacrosse using the fields after school. The rest of the year there is lots of space.

I assume that all rumors here are true...

theres only one club that's to owns their own fields. It took 12 years to complete.
Having complete control of facilities is the keys to successs and only one club owns that right

And who might that be cowboy? It looks like you write how you say it. Yeeeehaaaaa!!

FC don't even have a DOC anymore. The club is falling apart. They have no leader who can guide them in the right direction. It's so sad.

FC has a top quality board of directors that is always running the ship. They've already interviewed several top quality DoC candidates and one will be hired shortly. Don't worry about FC; you might be better off worrying about the survival of your TA club - not many Timbers HS girls teams left are there?

If you're suggesting it's WashT, think again. City owns the land. Bank owns everything else. They are so close to bankruptcy it's not funny.

No, that's just wishful thinking on the part of CU and Tom as FCP is clearly the much better ECNL program and the only way CU doesn't drift into ECNL oblivion
