    FC West Santos Jr (BU11) thrown out of State Cup

    Anyone know why?

    They just won the Prem White division of Spring League, but forfeited a match against Lake Oswego Green over the weekend (one of their players got sent off). But that's all I can tell from the match results posted at the OYSA website.

      The entire TEAM got booted from the State Cup, all their remaining matches forfeited. Generally, that doesn't happen unless a team intentionally uses a suspended/ineligible player, incites a riot on the field, or something like that.

      One of the players on the team was red-carded for "violent conduct", and given a two-match suspension by OYSA, but that in and of itself wouldn't lead to a forfeit of a match, let alone an entire tournament. Possibly the coach pulled the team in response to a decision that was thought to be unjust; OTOH no discipline against the coaching staff has been reported at the OYSA website.

      Not sure if any parents had anything to do with this.

        Typically this would be due to an ineligible player. See U13B Fall league RPSC.

          The tried to sneak on some ineligible players that were a year too old.

          Check your opponents rosters. I'm sure there are others out there cheating also. Each team should have 9 original players from their fall roster.

                    P Ineligible Participation:
                    (1) A team will forfeit any game in which
                    (a) an ineligible player is listed on the team’s tournament roster; or
                    (b) an ineligible player participates (NOTE: participation includes a player being present on the
                    team’s bench wearing the team’s uniform, regardless of whether the player enters the field as a
                    player).
                    (2) Any team found to have allowed an ineligible player to participate in a match is not eligible to
                    compete further in the National Championship Series competitions in the current seasonal year.
                    (a) Any remaining scheduled games for the team will be forfeited.
                    (b) The team will be fined for each such forfeited game.

                        Did the club knowingly cheat, or did a player pull a fast one, or did someone screw up, or what?

                        I've seen more than a few BU11 clubs with some players that looked like teens on them (i.e. obvious signs of puberty from kids who are allegedly in fifth grade). Which doesn't mean the clubs were cheating, obviously--some kids are early bloomers, physically--but a reputable club will play kids like that up an age group (as much as allowed).

                            My daughter was a ref for a boys u11 game and the one team that was predominately Hispanic looked at least 16 or 17. The entire team was at least 12-18" taller than their opponent
