If my daughter is a 2018 and not getting any looks

My daughter is a top player at a mid-tier club and has not gotten any feedback from college coaches as yet. She has friends that are on A teams at more prominent clubs, that tend to go to more prestigious showcases that have gotten feedback from college coaches. Should I be concerned that she has not heard back from coaches she's written to? How important is it to get to better showcases, like Disney?

Don't panic yet. Because she's not on a top A team she's not going to get shopped right now. 2018s in the process now are on the better teams at the better showcases, getting looks by coaches at top soccer programs. It's just going to happen a bit later for her is all. Also, her aim may be too high given the level she is at. Review her target list and talk with people in the know - her current coach, HS coach, etc. Is it a realistic list of schools given her skill level?

Assuming her target list is realistic have her keep checking in with coaches from time to time, especially if she has games coming up near the schools or will be in any tournaments - have her send them games schedules. If she still gets nothing then move on. All the talk about early recruiting for girls is focused on a subset of players. recruiting will still go one well into junior year for girls, despite all the hype.

Has she been to any showcases yet? Hard to get feedback if coaches haven't seen her play. If her team isn't going much in terms of showcases seek out opportunities to guest play. Has she sent a video? Again, no video = no feedback. Finally, coaches are swamped with emails from 100s of players. Sometimes catching their attention is a numbers game combined with a little luck. Keep plugging away

Get her to ECNL ASAP. Guaranteed exposure and scholarship money. People will bash out of club loyalty but ECNL is proven track to big schools and money

        You didn't provide enough info?

What position does she play? If she's a keeper you're way late.

Where does your daughter want to play? Top25 you should already be having communication with the coaches.

When you say the ones she has written? Have they responded?

What events have you gone to that coaches might have been at?

Makes it seem like the college coaches don't know what they are looking at. The identical player will be treated differently because she in this league or that league? makes no sense...it's the same person.

Have you attended any ID camps? If not, make sure you write to all the colleges that she is interested in attending, and ask them to put her on their mailing list for ID camps. Have her the ID clinics, plus any summer camps and you can speak directly with the coaches there.

Don't waste your time and money. Head to a ECNL club now, 80% of players commit to D1.

Make sure you contact schools and fill out their online forms.

Do ID 1 or 2 day id clinics.

Play for an ECNL program if they have one within an hour or so from you. But make sure the ECNL are doing some of the work for you. They should be reaching out to college programs for you.

                Keep the grades up!

ECNL isn't the only way to get on a college roster, despite the ECNL marketing machine telling you that. It just takes more work if you're not. There are plenty of good recommendations on this thread, including ID camps or camps at schools she is interested in. Make sure she contacts coaches prior to the events to they know to look out for her.

Also the OP didn't say D1 was her target, and even within D1 there's the top and the bottom and plenty in between. You don't have to be on an ECNL to make it happen.

Sure but it isn't for everyone for many reasons, and you're assuming the player could make an ECNL team or wants to. At earliest she couldn't even get on one until next fall. Better bet for the time being is to keep working the emails, contacting coaches, sending videos and game schedules, attending ID and camps

It's not the only way but ECNL is the Mecca for college recruiting and level of play.

Wrapping up verbal committments not wrapping up money. Money might be promised but it isn't in writing until that nli is signed.

OP gave no indication as to what level his D is looking at. Not everyone wants to or can play at the highest level. There's how many hundreds of women's soccer programs out there? They all need players
