It's going to be a painfully long year 😔

    Subpar coaching
    Average players

Those two combined get you butt kickings all year long.
Even the Idaho teams are getting results this weekend.

    Why would anyone play ECNL?

Because Timbers Alliance and OYSA is 10x worse?

Soccer in Oregon is fine. It's the crazy obsessed parents in this state that are low level, never happy crazies. if you are looking for a good ROI, youth soccer is a bad investment. If you can just enjoy the game because your kids love it then you don't have anything to complain about.

If your playing rec or just above this statement isn't true but maybe close. If your playing on a traveling team cost is close to same. If you are doing ODP and traveling your cost is more.

Life is about choices, make yours and move on.

So, saying Oregon ECNL is dead? Seems about right.

It's already been a painfully long year for anyone at a Timbers Alliance club...

They could stay here in Oregon and beat everyone or they can travel and play better competition. You're clearly the kind of person who prefers second tier competition so you can win. Real competitors seek better competition.

TA clubs are a fraud. They are nothing more than glorified rec clubs teaching this stay at home and play your fun soccer on the weekends mentality. Have fun and stay comfortable at home if you're satisfied with that. There really is nothing wrong with that.

ECNL clearly makes you uncomfortable though since you morons can't stop obsessing over it. How does it feel sitting on the sideline with no hope of getting in? I'm sure that was your experience playing sports growing up. You're probably used to it. You're simply not good enough and that is why you resort to anonymously attacking these kids, teams and clubs.

Do you know the teams they played against? No don't even pretend you do because we all know you don't. You don't step outside Oregon so you couldn't. So keep attacking ECNL. Keep making these silly posts. Keep telling kids at your TA rec clubs to not come and that it isn't worth it. Stay home and play 2nd or 3rd tier soccer and boot out some wins and feel like you're accomplishing something.

You're not fooling the real competitors. Go Thorns Academy!!

What's funny is to travel so far to play one game aday these kids are not in college nor do they get paid to play. But I forget there's no such thing as having family values . You are all just a bunch of sheep following the flock and the remorse you'll have for not putting family 1st . Good luck to all and choices you make in life.

You must have never traveled for sports. I'm not surprised. It's a fun experience for kids and parents who travel with them.

Stay true to your family values and stay home watching TV together. Sounds like great memories for your kids. Rec games on the weekend with donuts at half time. TV marathons afterwards! Go Thorns Academy!!

the moment your kiddos team can beat every other team within a 5 hour drive, at least twice in the same year, you just go jump on an airplane and find someone tougher.

once youve done that and youve met your competition and lost, you know youve gone as far as you can. no need to go back and do it all over again. It wont make them any better. take a step back, tune up the skills playing somewhat local, take down all that you come across again, then go after the next goliath.

constantly loosing is not a way to learn better. Winning one out of 5 games will not make you better. (maybe better conditioning wise, but NOT skill)

Your holier than thou post is funny. Equating traveling for sports is somehow not putting family first or detrimental to family values. Please, you're terribly disingenuous. Envy is a terrible thing.
