    Central MA Clubs

Wondering what clubs cover the Central MA (Acton) area.

We are currently at GPS Central and looking to see what else is out there come Spring.

Hesitant with NEFC as practice location may vary. Current friend travels to Norfolk once a week for practice.

Hesitant with Stars as another friend said the coaches don't attend all games as they each coach 4-5 teams.

Not sure about Strikers, did a clinic with them and was not impressed.

Don't know anything about the Bolts.

Any other clubs, other than the above, that I am missing in the area?

Would like to keep practice travel to a minimum, which is one of the reasons we've stuck with GPS and why Stars is appealing. Kid is BU11.

Define "Central MA" -- Closer to NH or RI? East or west of Worcester?

My original post states Acton area.

And no, not trying to cause a debate.

Just genuinely wanting to know if I missed any clubs.

Trying to find the right fit for my kid.

Thanks. Didn't know they were in Sudbury. Last I looked I needed to go to Hopkinton, which I don't want to do.

Sorry, I honestly skimmed right over that looking for age and gender.

Prior post stole my answer though, for that age and boys, Abbey Villa is worth a look.

But not all teams train in Marlboro right?

I have a friend with a kid at NEFC Central and they are in Norfolk once a week.

NEFC boys train in Marlborough. Maybe you should contact the clubs directly.

Ok. If you say so. We passed on NEFC Central last year bc one practice was in Marlborough and one was in Hopkinton or Holliston. I don't remember which.

you passed because of an extra 15 minute drive, that makes no sense, hope you're happy at a second tier club

A practice around rush hour is way more than 15 extra min.

It's 45 min to an hour from where I am to Hopkinton/Holliston.

Right now my drive to practice is 10 min.

Not sure why you are being so combative/defensive.

My original post said I'm looking for club options locally.

If NEFC would guarantee all practices were in Marlborough, I'd consider it.

Not sure how I'm at a second tier club when a coach came over from NEFC.

Stars coaches have many teams and practice is a cattle call. Your child will need to get better on his own with his dad. My sons and my experience.
