    European Camp

Has anyone ever sent their child to a camp in Europe?

I was looking into a Spanish immersion camp but I wasn't comfortable with the decision until I research it more.

Why bother because they're beginning to pussify the game here anyway. Save the money and wait for the Eurotrash rules to take effect here.

It is more about the language immersion than the actual game. I thought it would be a neat way for my son to learn spanish and soak up some Barca culture.

I hope you get some good replies because I'm interested for my son as well. Thanks for starting this thread.

Well just so you know they don't speak a ton of Spanish in Barcelona, they speak Catalan.

actually not true. Almost everyone speaks Spanish whether they consider it their first or second language.

I agree. I have gone to Barca and everyone spoke spanish (and a lot spoke English)

You could say the same about Portugal, but if you are looking for a Spanish immersion program, go to Madrid.

Oh stop. I'm sure the OP isn't only getting opinions from TS.

In fact, I asked about people's experiences with the Red Bulls RDS residential camps on TS. When there was unanimity that 5 hey were excellent -- on TS-- that was a good piece of information to be had. (And my son's experience this summer agreed with the TS consensus.

I have googled some programs but I would love to hear from some parents that actually did it. He plays B level club now. He loves soccer and world cup culture. He wouldn't mind Germany either.

I am surprised that several parents haven't done this.

I disagree. If you look at the consensus and filter the noise, there is some great info here.
