New Discovery, Oregon ECNL teams not very good but still costs a fortune

Too many options in the town for players with the two playing in the encl league and the thorns academy. Talent is diluted. Need to consolidate.

So tell GW to shut down Thorns Academy. Problem solved.

        Better Solution

Have a standard of play that qualifies your club team to participate in an ECNL league, other then the current requisite of having ability to pay the fees of travel and coaching.

        Just a thought.

Parody threads are parody threads and not particularly creative.

Why shut down the Thorns? It's easily better than ECNL. Womens DA is coming soon, ECNL will fade. Thorns already proven a better option to Oregon ECNL. It's clear.

Keep dreaming. Until women's soccer makes money, there will be no academies.

MLS is doing very well and they are very interested in developing women's soccer.

Are they going to fund the women's academies?

There is a high standard. No Alliance club, including Thorns, comes close to meeting it.

If losing $100M per year is "doing very well", then sure...

Unless you do high wealth tax planning you probably wouldn't naturally understand how this works.

The owners of the MLS franchises are making a lot of money. Cash flow and net increase in intrinsic value. If you had a lot of money there aren't many better opportunities to grow your wealth.

Don't confuse tax losses with the creation of value.

So they can start women's academies and get even wealthier by losing even more money?

They aren't losing money. They are making massive amounts of money.
