    Fees and Costs for 2015-2016

As we go into tryouts please ascertain the full freight cost for the upcoming seasonal year before you make any commitment,

Depending upon various factors, the full freight cost for the upcoming seasonal year may consist of: club registration fees; player uniform costs; any additional club or team coaching fees; any additional club or team training fees; any referee fees for leagues, tournaments, and scrimmages; any additional registration fees for more than one league; Region Cup or State Cup registration fees; other tournament registration fees; volunteer efforts and/or volunteer fees; coach travel and lodging reimbursement costs; administrative fees for allowing you to make payments over time, etc...

If you later seek a player release, most clubs (with FYSA approval) require that their seasonal year registration fees be fully paid and some clubs require an additional transfer fee of up to $250.00.

The websites and/or tryout packets of good clubs will provide their fees and costs in detail and their coaches or team managers should be able to estimate what to expect in teams fees and coach travel and lodging reimbursement expenses at tryouts.

Because the registration fees of some clubs are less inclusive than those of other clubs and because those registration fees might not include items like additional team coaching fees, referee fees, league registration fees or Region Cup or State Cup registration fees, Club B with its less expensive sounding registration fee of $750.00 may actually cost more than Club A with its more inclusive registration fee of $1,000.00.

Be careful out there. Appearances can be deceiving.

I don't know where you are from that fees are between $750-$1,000 ?

    Not where I'm from:

Start up costs are anywhere from $1,500-$1,750. Then comes cost for tournaments, extra training, scrimmages, coaches travel costs, family travel costs, etc.

Look at $3,500-$5,500 and that's staying in state. Add another $3,500-$5,000 if you are playing out of state.

So, if anyone is looking to invest this type of money for a scholarship some day.....think again! And if your kid isn't playing division I by U14, think again as it might be better to go with small local club that does not spend 2-3 weekends a month out of town (if you have to be on a travel team). Most certainly there are better ways to have family time, real vacations, allowing exposure to other sports and interests, and still have a little cash left at the end of the year.
