FC Portland changes U15-U18 tryout dates

FC Portland changed their high school age tryout dates from August to June 2-3. It has always seemed weird to tryout, then wait almost four months to start. Even though the reasoning behind it seems solid, are any other clubs following suit?

Tryouts in WA have always been mid-May for these age groups. Other state have tryouts in various months. Don't think it matters other than they are simply aligning the dates more closely with ECNL tryouts.

Does this mean they are no longer registering teams in the OYSA leagues and State Cup competitions and sticking to playing in just the OPL ?

As most know the OPL has no say in local club Tryout dates (USclub Soccer rule)

Whereas the OYSA publishes the first date of Tryouts each year for all OYSA member teams competing in USYS.

              Please advise.

Link to this OYSA published tryout dates please? Can't find it on the OYSA site.

Since when does FC Portland follow recruiting rules? They will hold their ECNL tryouts early and accept players in their regular teams who don't make their teams. It's an end run around OYSA recruiting rules.

So following ECNL tryout dates is an "end run around OYSA recruiting rules" now. What will the TA cavemen think up next. While you're at it, please post a link to these "OYSA recruiting rules" and the "OYSA official tryout dates". Assuming there are such things, of course...

Pretty typical of most the soccer talk on here. You don't have an 'effing clue what is going on.

Your dd plays on Eastside's U11 B team and you think you have one inkling as what ECNL is or who Tom is.

Go fix the General Lee you idiot.
