Having the Thorns here has been great for our daughters and sons! Don't see them as much as the Timbers, but worth the price of admission.

In terms of the overall pyramid the Timbers are trying to build, think there are some good (Thorns, T2, US Soccer Academy), some bad (contribution to the league split, Timbers Alliance to the extent it is a political coalition) and some I'm not sure about but see positive potential (Thorns Academy, ODP).

      Pretty cool.
I'm surprised - I didn't know the Thorns were such an international standout. I knew the rest of women's MLS was way behind, but thought other countries had more interest in women's soccer.

Regarding the Timbers triangle - I think it looks good on paper and is probably a good idea. In actual implementation (only implemented on boys side, btw), though, I see a lot of issues with it. Hopefully that will improve with time.

I knew that the US was way ahead in terms of women's soccer. The US has been for quite some time. In spite of soccer being an international sport, many international countries only view it as a man's sport and don't give girls/women's soccer much time or interest. Brazil's women's team gets little to no support while the men's team are all treated a rock stars by the country. Our dominance in the women's world cup is eroding however as more countries put more emphasis on their women's programs and on girls clubs at the youth ages.
