What would have happened W/O the Thorns Academy

Imagine how much better the local ECNL 15's 16's & 17's would have been with those players......Thanks Gavin!

They would have actually been competitive.

There are so many great players on the one Thorns team. How did they do in the league they played in?

Significantly better than the ECNL teams would have done. How's NWCL going? Oh wait, not so good. Need to go back to those last place ECNL teams.

Like what ECNL did for their players? Still waiting for all of the ECNL girls to get offers due to ECNL. And will be for some time.

How did the Thorns do in NWCL?

I heard the Thorn really kicked butt in the 2nd division in the Vegas tournament.

Do they even play in a real league? Do they have any highly experienced, qualified coaching? And, most important, does Alex Morgan come to practices and teach the girls about Twitter, Instagram, and body paint?

The real hope is that the academy folds so that the ECNL teams have a chance at upgrading their talent. Worst thing that can happen for a bunch of the ECNL players who would then be displaced.

Actually it is the worst thing that could happen for OR ECNL because it would put a talent base on the street who don't want to pay the over all costs. It would become clear that ECNL is not about the most skilled, just who can pay the bills.

Timbers academy (boys) charges a player $500. That is it. Until the OR ECNL teams do that, they are not an academy. Just a club playing in a regional/national league. Sorry, but truth hurts sometimes.

And all you OYSA TA clowns are paying the rest of the expenses above the $500. You just aren't smart enough to realize how duped you are.

Last I looked Thorns Academy isn't $500. Why not? Don't the Timbers care about the girls? But then once the Academy folds here shortly, it won't cost anyone anything, will it?

And ECNL isn't meant to be a "free academy" per your definition. It's simply the highest quality girls soccer league in the nation and two Oregon clubs are members.
