    38 out of 43 Teams

come from THUSC, Crossfire & FC Portland in the 2015 edition of the Culdesac Cup for girls.

Only 5 teams come from outside the clubs listed above.

Truly a remarkable Culdesac Cup is in store for all to see.

See you at the front lawn and the others around the row of mailboxes.

Oy, really more trolling for OYSA vs OPL trolls?

Here's the reality (for girls soccer anyways):

ECNL is here to stay, and whether you want to argue that it should have just started in OR with one club vs two, who cares. Its well established, if slightly more expensive than regular club system.

Whatever the politics, the remaining teams in the OPL are clearly hurt the worst by the split, getting considerably less variation in competition than they did before. At the same time OYSA would greatly benefit from having these teams in the mix.

The Thorns Academy isn't going anywhere either, at least as long as the Thorns themselves are around. Its hard to say what its impact will be over the long term, and ideally the Timbers/Thorns management would work with the OYSA and Timber-affiliated teams to rationalize how they work and fit together. But I won't hold my breath on that one.

      Reality 101

      1. Crossfire done
      2. OPL done
      3. OPL Directors Cup done
      4. OPL cul de sac Cup done
      5. Timbers USSDA will grow to u12 to u18 comprehensive club for boys and girls
      6. Thorns will be a u12 to u18 Girls ECNL or similar program
      7. Timber Alliance teams of today will go back to their former names
      8. Parents will not pay today's prices for 2nd level club teams that remain after the Timbers club is created. (best of the best)
      9. Everyone except the Timbers will be a 2nd tier club when they (Timbers) stretch into the Boys & Girls from u11 to u18, eventually going down to kinder ages.
      10. Parent coaches will be needed in 5 years to fill the void left by the former paid premier coaches who arent' premier without premier players.

5 years from today come back and read this post.

Put the pipe down. Soccer outside the Timbers Alliance is alive and well. Deal with it.

the list predicts that the Timbers alliance will go away and those clubs will go back to their former names.

THE TIMBERS ARE FORMING THEIR OWN CLUB FROM U12 TO U18 BOYS AND GIRLS.

Do you think that is a good thing? If that is the case, should they be running leagues?

The USSDA will go down to the u12 division. No need to play OYSA.

The girls will play in the ECNL.

But yes it raises the question should they run they OYSA league for u11 boys & the u11, u12, u13.

Using the OPL model as an example only those 3 clubs LOSC, FC & THUSC run that league.

Everyone asks should they be running the league? Touche'

Actually, there are 16 different clubs represented in the OPL State Cup and 25 different clubs represented in the OYSA State Cup (of which 2 are OPL clubs FCP and Crossfire). There is a lot more diversity than you are erroneously suggesting.

And how many of the OYSA teams are not TA clubs?? Not many, so what's your point it's the TA cup or Culdesac cup? Either way it's not a State Cup!!!

There are 25 clubs in OYSA state cup but most have only 1 or 2 teams. The vast majority are Timbers for sure.

Apparently you think that Crossfire Southside is the same as Crossfire Willamette is the same as Crossfire Lake Oswego, etc. That's OK as long as you also admit that Eastside Timbers is the same as Westside Timbers is the same as Bend Timbers, etc...

I didn't see any Eastside Timbers, Westside Timbers, Bend Timbers or Portland Timbers in the OPL listings, boys or girls.

Very few clubs with the first name CROSSFIRE were followed by the nickname Lake Oswego or Willamette.
Nearly all of the teams listed as CROSSFIRE were followed by the name black, or green.

                              What was your point?
