Disney Memorial Day - Accomodation Question

    Hi all,

    New to this Disney thing.

How do they ensure you stay at one of their participating hotels / resorts?

How do they prevent you from registering for the tournament and then staying wherever the f you want to?

    Thanks in advance.

You go to Anthony Travel and tell them exactly what you need, and if the prices are too high, becuase you got quotes. Tell them. If they can't match it, book two rooms at the one they tell you, then cancel at the last moment before the 48 hour deadline. Remember, if they give you what you want at the price you want, take it. If not, plan it yourself.

They require that you make your reservations thru "Anthony Travel". If you are ready to do a little of the work, you can stay almost anywhere... We did exactly this for the girls showcase this past new year's eve... We contacted a resort where we wanted to stay and we contacted Anthony Travel and told them... They sent their contract and if the hotel is willing to sign it, there you go... done deal! Anthony travel will set that hotel in their system for you to pick it, so you still make your reservation thru them...

Gerbil would find out if you did this and would still take action against the team. You can get away with booking a reasonable number of rooms and having other people book directly though.

FYI: According to Anthony site....you are charged for 1 night minimum if you cancel a reservation any time after booking. All Star resorts are pretty much regular prices at $105 per night. On Disney booking site the All Star rooms are not currently available for that weekend.

This person bashes Disney every change. I can guess that their child didn't get accepted to the Showcase. Quit bitching about about the price, admission, walking distance..... You and your team chose to go to the tournament if you were accept. Or just don't go if you can't afford it. You loser

Little unrealistic. On any team, some are in a much better position to afford it than others. Saying you are going skip the tournament does not always go over well especially for a strong player.

Ummm....parents don't have to go. The player can go with willing teammates that will help on the cost. That is very realistic!

I'm not the, "Gerbil thrasher," but couldn't agree more! Everything about Rat Kingdom stinks to high heaven (traffic, prices, admission, short list mandatory hotel, toxic fields, low wage standards, etc. etc. etc)! There is nothing magical about this place except the money siphoned into top Rat CEO bank accounts!

Being blackmailed by my son. Absolutely no way to justify doing this tournament other than son would hate me for not doing it. And that is the disney model. First year was worth it for the moment, second seemed like the tournament we had to do to end the year, this year is like can i just send disney a check so we dont have to do it.

Sounds like you don't know how to be a proper parent.
