Can anyone provide info? Daughter in middle school and we are looking into schools for high school, she'd like to play soccer. She is my oldest, just trying to find info. Which division or league do these schools play in? Which schools are known as the better schools? Thanks.

Go to the NEPSAC website, and it has a tab which lists leagues, as well as one that lists all member schools. You can also get some info about who won the soccer tournaments. You'll note that the schools in the leagues are mostly grouped geographically, although there are also schools which aren't members of any league (including, I think, some of the "best" schools like Andover and Exeter). So as a starting point, question is whether the kid would board, which would have a major impact on choices. But even if the kid boards, geographics is still going to be a relevant factor for many. From a soccer perspective, the schools are generally grouped in classes (A, B, C) based on how many students they have.

Academics above all else. If a school is the perfect fit in terms of education, social fit, etc. but the soccer is mediocre, then plan on doing club soccer in the off season.

A lot depends upon where you live or whether you want to consider a boarding situation. In the Metro West area the two strongest prep school soccer programs over the most recent couple of years have been Nobles and Rivers but there are a lot of really solid options out there to choose from. Academically none of them are slouches and your child will be extremely well prepared for college. One thing to be aware of though is if you have your sites on an Ivy or comparable type of college you can run into school "quotas" with these types of schools that might actually work against you.
