    About the USL Super Y-League:

Founded in 1999, the Super Y-League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players. Averaging 700 teams since 2004, the Super Y-League has steered the course for development of elite clubs, players, and coaches. Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y-League ODP Program has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team Programs. The Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. The league also serves clubs looking to develop the game from the ground up. Top youth academies such as Mass Premier Soccer and TSF Academy have been members of the league for several seasons. USL’s Super Y-League has revolutionized youth player development in North America.

    The Super Y-League ODP Philosophy:

To identify players for U.S. National Team Programs, within their natural environment during competition on their club team during the Super Y-League season.

    Purpose:

The Super Y-League ODP system was started in 2003 to recognize a pool of players in each age group for identification to U.S. National Team Programs; and to utilize the clubs system in the United States to identify players.

    How do I participate?

Contact a local Super Y-League club in order to become a part of the Super Y-League ODP system. Players will be scouted during league play by the national scouting system of the Super Y-League, which is comprised of all of the coaches within the clubs of the league.

    Program Description History:

In 2002, the Super Y-League, through US Soccer and the United States Olympic Committee, was granted ODP programs to identify players for U.S. National Team Programs. The first selection process began during the 2003 season to identify players for Regional Team selection events, where U.S. National Staff Coaches scouted players for National Team Programs. In addition to many players being identified for U.S. National Team Programs, top players are identified by leading college and university soccer programs throughout the United States.

The Super Y-League ODP Selection Process:

During the regular season players are evaluated during their games by the opposing team coaches for tactical, physical and psychological characteristics that will determine their ability to attend the ODP National Camp typically held in February and March. Through the scouting system, the combined nominations will be used, along with proportional allocation in conjunction with Director of Coaching recommendations, to determine invitations to the ODP camps. The overall number of games and teams will also be factored into this process.

What are SYL ODP National Camps?

The top players chosen by the scouting system in each age group per geographic division of the Super Y-League will attend the ODP National Camp. These camps are attended by U.S. National Staff Coaches to identify players for U.S. National Team Programs, as well as many of the nation’s top collegiate coaches. The camps are typically held in Florida during February and March.

What are the Benefits of Participating in the Super Y-League ODP system?

    • The selection of players within their natural environment on their club teams within league play, as opposed to an open-tryout system. Many players do not participate in the open-tryout ODP system operated by state associations, and other players do not perform well in the open tryout process.
    • Exposure to the U.S. National Staff and Team Coaches.
    • Exposure to professional and collegiate scouts.
    • There is no cost to be scouted or to try out. The scouting system is built into league play and contains no additional ODP fees. Only those selected to attend ODP camps will incur camp fees.

I think the poster was stating that Gold Soccer Academy treats the girls program as second class just like all the other clubs. Girls never get to play on the stadium fields.

Wrong. My daughter played with Gold Soccer and they alternated the 3 fields evenly for their teams. The stadium is turf (which is great because there are no rain outs) & the 2 back fields are in great shape, not like the terrible fields my kids play on with their regular season teams.
The experience was great to play with players from other clubs who she is now friends with. See you at tryouts Gold Soccer!

Yes, please come join our rec super Y program.
Our fields are even worse than last year.

                More sand, better castles.
                Rec coaches, coaching rec talent.
                More dirt, better ditches.
Squadra Uniforms that tear, rip and fall apart.

Same here. A big problem with super y is the rain in the summer and the cities close there fields and cancel practice. Gold Soccer has a turf field so we didn't have that problem. You could see my son's improvement over the summer.

We played last year and are not going back. My son was on the U12 program last year. They said one thing and did another. They told us we were going to be with one coach then put us on another team. They accepted U10 players to play just to fill a roster and have two teams.

We didn't win a game had to go to jacksonville to get slaughtered with no bench playing in 100 degree weather with 10 year olds playing against 13 year olds.

The registration was a joke some players because they weren't born here and they screwed up with the registration missed games, two had to get a refund because their international clearance took so long.

Not enough uniforms ordered. Then wrong sizes.

This place was totally a joke a waste of time.

We all know who are. You can never please everyone. If you did not have a good experience, then don't go back again. Why would you spend your time to bash? Just go somewhere else. I looked on Gold Soccer website and there uniform is now adidas. They learned there lesson about squadra. My son was on this team. They were some younger players and we were happy for the chance to play. We will be back.

Wp doesn't impress me after checking the stats from last year. Gold soccer had some great teams last year. The majority of the teams made the Super Y League, North American Finals. Who will be the coaches this year?

on the boys side U13 and below Gold soccer can't touch WP, on the older side they are about even.

Gold soccer never beat WP u12 last year which made it to nationals, this year they are it will be the same in that U13 category.

for the u12 most of HG teams will be on it plus what ever outside players come, which will be about 4 of the weston kids that did not enjoy them selves last year at gold, and any others. Same result gold won't be able to compete.

AB u11s core of that age group good luck putting a team to compete with them as well.

Name the coaches for gold for the age groups

                              pines already posted theirs

good luck if you go to gold you will need it
