    Thorns Academy 4th in FWRL!

Good effort Timbers. In just one year you managed to turn the FWRL champion into a chump. Better pack it in before too many people find out how much damage you have been doing to youth soccer.

4th doesn't sound bad. I'm sure it was against some of the best competition in the country and slews of teams challenging to advance.

Yep. 4th out of 6. Exact same teams that Copa TS beat last year. Outstanding Timbers!!! Can you please screw over youth soccer a little more?

It's interesting that just a few posts ago the TA group was posting about how weak the PacNW tournament was. "Filled with b-teams" I think they said....

I think that describes GW perfectly.

I hope you didn't trip and hurt yourself in your mad dash to your computer to share your glee over this.

Seriously though, maybe you should just thank your lucky stars Thorns Academy is here because if they weren't, your kiddo might be riding the pine even more during the ECNL matches.

There's a Thorns Academy? Who knew? They play soccer? Have they won anything?

He probably hasn't heard of the professional team either.

There are no professional women's teams. At best, they are semi-professional. And with an average attendance of less than 2500, and no TV deal, even that league will likely disappear soon.

                            Too bad you don't disappear.

That is disappointing. It's fun to go to a Thorns game.
But I'd bet most of the league-high average 13,000 people that go to Thorns games don't realized that Portland is the ONLY place that attendance is that high.

                              per Google:
"The Thorns drew by far the most fans in the NWSL last season, averaging 13,320 per game. The NWSL drew a league-wide average attendance of 4,271 per game, but when the Thorns are not included in the attendance numbers, the league drew an average of only 2,978 per game.Mar 9, 2014"
