    Northeast Regional Futsal Championships

Now that the brackets and schedules are out, what are people's thoughts or predictions?

I see many new teams from all over the northeast.

Do you have a link to the schedule? There is no obvious link to it on the tournament home page.

How does a U9 team qualify? I noticed there were 4 teams in a bracket. What league do you have to play in Mass to qualify?

          How does any team qualify?
          You simply enter early.

So any team can play?I would think it would be setup like regionals where one age group represents each state??

The competition varies. Yes it is held in the northeast but definitely not a competition of the best players in the northeast. Hopefully the kids just have fun.

You need a qualifying procedure in soccer because otherwise you'd have a hundred teams at each age level at regionals. No such problem with futsal.

Pretty much the best kids around play in this tournament. Not sure how they screen teams but if your kid is good he/she will have found a team to play.

There will be some talent there of course but not all the best players in the state/region are attending. Futsal hasn't taken off enough. yet.

What do you mean exactly? How do you know if your kid is the best if futsal has not taken off enough?

Unbeknownst to Futsal (copyright) I entered a team of monkey's in the U9 bracket. I have been training them by smearing the fuzzy ball with bananapaste. They get a shock when they try to use their hands and a reward when they use their feet. They are working pretty well together as a team. I call them the FC Bananasplitz.

My son too. He would like to play although he has a penchant for throwing his own feces at spectators at times.
