    Region 1 Champions League

My daughters team just received an email that they have been accepted into the Div 1 level of this league , first time being exposed to this type of league, any comments or info on if it is going to be a top league or not? I was told only 1 game per day and travel will not be as bad as years past

Just another watered down league taking your money. You'd be much better off just playing town, high school and hiring a private trainer. Check out the ISLs.

Ignore this jackass...Your club should ask who else was accepted and HAS committed, then you can figure level and travel. I am not a fan of USYSA as I think they have screwed up enough over the years, especially in Region 1 and this is their attempt to save the sinking ship, but if your club can't find good games in ECNL/NEP/NPL, then move on to another league! We played Region 1 last year and it was a ton of travel!

Winning this league gets you in to the National Championships, but so would winning Regionals, which will be much easier this year as most top teams will not participate. Better programs are going US Club.

Why so you could crap all over it? List will be out shortly, then you can go about how none of these clubs could stand up to either the league or club you are affiliated with, it is all some of you guys do on here. I feel really bad for some of you, it is a pathetic life you lead

My sons team played in it two years ago and the competition was great. Travel stunk, but still they had a good time. Worth doing over not doing.

I think this is the first year for girls in Champions League. My daughters team played NPL last year and Region 1 two years ago. Region 1 was far less travel and better competition than NPL. Your worst trip may be NY/NJ or possibly PA. Limited travel with good competition better than excessive travel or limited competition in Maple/NEP.

Soccer fan from another region chiming in. Love following the Mass banter and drama. Funny to hear that US Club is where the better NE programs are going. In most of the rest of the country, USYSA is the top level and US Club is crap with few good clubs participating. Another example of why US youth soccer is screwed up.

Region 1 is a very competitive league where the top teams can compete with any of the top teams in the country. Do not listen to this person who says your kid is better off playing town.

Thanks for the feedback. Most of these parents haven't the first clue how different club soccer is around the country. What many of them don't actually see is that US Club Soccer is actually killing soccer in the NE as well.

The post your replying to is correct. There is plenty of talented teams to play here in Ma.
At that Regional level the focus is on winning not individual growth. Those R1 teams are really no better than the top local teams. Clubs want you to believe otherwise and keep you riding on the money train.

Don't buy into the other end of the hype either. The truth is the teams in a league like this or the ECNL/NPL ARE different than a run of the mill local team.
