    2014/15 BU15 Thread

Alright. Lets get this thread Boys U15 thread started.

The GPS NPL team will be the best team in NE at this age group. Scorpions a distant 2nd. After that, it's wide open.

Is the GPS team just Massachusetts kids or does it also include New Hampshire?

I predict this is the year the rest of the teams catch up with Scorpions physically.

There is also ME to consider. If they included NH they have to include ME too. Which may just make this team unbeatable if the talent was good enough.

Last years U14 GPS dream team had players from NH & Maine as well . A few of their better players were lost to the Bolts & Revs. They were a good team last year but by no means considerably better than top club teams.

          Noreaster might be best

also AC Arlington and North shore with the merger- better than any NEP teams - all 3

Crusaders won State Cup last year. This year the best 6 players from Crusaders + Best 6 Players from Bulldogs+ Best 6 players from Knights + top player from Seacoast Academy 14's last year + top GPS NH player plus 4 other TOP players from other clubs. This group should be very strong. The question will be how will they come together? I believe they will be very strong and considerably better than the above poster thinks.

Well it looks like the GPS NPL team may not be #1 after all. Seems like the Scorps are going to own again this year.

Did none of you people see the results of the GPS Thanksgiving Tournament last weekend? These teams played in the U15 Super Group and Scorpions beat all of them. There's your answer.

Why are the Scorpions not part of the National League again this year? They finished second in their division and competed well with teams across the country. Someone said they didn't see the need to travel that far out of the NE while the kids are starting to think about college showcases which I can respect, but I find it hard to believe that's the reason. Almost sounded too logical.

Seems like a very good reason along with playing NPL.

National League feeds into the USYS National Championships. Scorpions (and most other big local clubs) have made the switch to US Club Soccer which has its own National Championships, so it wouldn't make sense for this team to continue to compete in National League, right?

Dont be so sure they will "own again" this year

Ok so there is no question that scorpions won this weekend fair and square. They won all 3 games which means they won the tournament. A few facts to consider, and the main one being GPS PLAYED 22-23 kids all weekend. All things considered GPS played well and got better over the weekend. These boys will need a little time to get comfortable with each other. i would say without a shadow of doubt GPS WOULD OF and will be much more competitive when they play with the best 11-15 kids FOR A ENTIRE GAME. This weekend was agreat opportunity for MH to watch the boys individually and see where kds will be useful. Actually overall GPS WAS BETTER IN THE 3 games played with 8 GF AND 2 GA. Scorps went 6 Gf and 2 GA.

GPS BEAT NOREASTER 3-0 SCORPS WON 1-0 with no call handball in box could of been1-1
Gps beat Csu 5-0 Very handily SCORPS WON 3-2
                          GPS LOST 2-0 to SCORPS

IN my opinion scorps have been he standard for years. But last year Crusaders WON STATE CUP! So the OWN Comment is just plain silly. They did own a few years ago but its all changing with time.

Do you think GPS is the only team that experimented this past weekend and need to get comfortable with each other? Scorpions have several new players and the coach tried various combinations over the course of the weekend. Controlled majority of the game against GPS, gave up a couple of weak goals to CSU and managed to escape a game against the thugs from Nor'easter without injury. We've been hearing that things have been "changing" for about 3 years now, but what has really changed?

                              Umm

Well for one you did not win state cup, GPS DID. So I guess that changed. And yes i think all teams were trying different things but not close to the extent of what GPS did this past weekend. They played 23 kids equally over 3 games. These kids have not played together ever. Scorpions added a"few" kids so basically the same team. Thugs or not game was 1-0 and the hand ball that everyone saw would of made the game 1-1. Not a game dominated by Scorpions.
