    Really ?

This has got to be the most obvious article ever. About the only thing it missed was saying that all good players use a ball when playing the game.

But if you play Oregon ECNL you, by default, negate tips 1, 3, and 5. They aren't impressed by players constantly chasing the ball and packing back on defense.

The 2 stronger teams haven't played. FC Nova is one of the weakest ECNL clubs on the West Coast. Utah Avalanche is 2nd rate to La Roca, maybe even 3rd at best in the state.

Well done FC PDX. This isn't any different than playing NWCL or FWRL. Oregon teams have been doing better against better competition for quite sometime now.

LOL ECNL in Oregon is a JOKE!

Why would anyone with common sense pay 10k+ for a year of soccer to:

              1. Get under developed by chasing the ball each game with how bad these ECNL oregon teams are.

              2. Get under developed by not even traveling 1/4th of the time.

              3. Get under developed by not even playing with discovery players taking time and sharing time with 17 other players.

              4. Pay for ECNL showcase tournaments where anyone with talent will be picked up regardless of if they play ECNL or not from any showcase tournament. FACT

              5. Get a coach who can recruit but can't coach.

              6. Pay 40k+ over 4 years to get a 2k a year offer at a random school that someone who has talent will get a much better one and not be in the hole their college tuition regardless of where they play.

              7. Take part in an experiment that went badly the last time it was tried (FCP)

Wake up. You are getting PLAYED! Anyone who tells you this is the only way or the best way is LYING to you. The difference between this and a random club team is that your random club team doesn't have to overload rosters at the cost of development to pay for it.

Yeah....its different. You are paying your kids college tuition while "trusting" that used car sales coaches have your kid in mind while they are out recruiting other kids to take your spot.

                  BINGO

Why have exposure when your kid will be either not traveling, sitting the bench, or chasing a not so good team around the field while college coaches are going to better teams or other tournaments to find players who actually know how to play.

GREAT CHOICE MOM AND DAD! At least they get a patch right?!!!!

Exactly, when they could have paid 2/3 that, got to practice on occasion on the turf in Providence Park, got and patch AND got a foam finger.

Except this is U14, they don't pay anywhere close to 10k, it's more like 4k

Pay 4k for 2k worth of value. Nice.

And the annual club dues are how much? And where do you travel?

I'm still waiting to hear what U14 team has had better success so we can go to tryouts. Bonus if they are cheaper and do any traveling.
