    State Cup new format

just to help understanding the differences this year...

Also, the fee this year will not include the bond and as such will be $500 cheaper.

Thought I'd try to get in front of all of the snark and whining and simply say thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info! See, TS.com can be useful from time to time.

So it seems that seeded teams enter at Round 2. Interesting...

based on how it's been done in past years, seeded teams are those that participate in R3PL, SRPL, FSPL, and some based on last year's state cup finish. Also seems that some local league's champions will be seeded as well. Teams get seeding points based on the above criteria. Teams with more points are seeded higher than those with fewer. Hope this helps!

this will effectively remove the ecnl club's NPL teams. they will have no seeded points unless they made it into the round of 16, if I'm understanding this new policy correctly. I don't have a problem with that, but there is the issue of using players inter-club for tournaments like this to gain an edge, the actual ecnl players, and they do it. wff does, now I've seen oc encl at sc so they may not be doing this... I don't like that just because you participate in a league that gives you points, unless you are earning that status EVERY year. win once and in, and then remain at the bottom of the league doesn't deserve any points. I know r3pl doesn't work that way, but FSPL? heck not all teams even earned their way in to begin with. not all made it to the round of 16, do those teams get points just for participating?

Way too much complication for the sake of seeding. If you are going to be state champion you have be capable of beating everybody. Who cares what group you are in?

State Cup worked fine without seeding before they introduced all this stuff which is intended exclusively for the purpose of penalizing teams that play in the NPL on the r3PL or FSPL. Politics at it's finest.

Don't the NPL teams also play in SSL to qualify for State Cup?FYSA needs to take charge and run this state like Georgia soccer does. This affiliate league champion requirement is going to put a lot of garbage teams straight into round two. Champions from FSL GCF NFY USA Region B SFY FLUGSA etc are getting seeds. Ridiculous.

From what you are saying, by eliminating ECNL and NPL (US Club) teams, the non-US Club teams have a better chance of winning State Cup. Nothing like winning a State Championship when you have not beaten the best teams in Florida. Basically, FYSA said, "If you can't beat them, then don't let them play".

Agree! Should just limit seeding to Quarter-finalists and up from previous state cup and no seeding for u-13.

Question? I see that round 2 consists of three games in 3 consecutive weekends. Does that mean you have to travel three weekends in a row to the same venue or are they going to change venues every weekend?
