What Happens to local TA HS age girls if ECNL works?

They may not be the ECNL haters posting here but the leadership of the TA clubs must be concerned that they are not going to have viable High School age girl teams in the very near future.

If you consider that the Thorns are looking to add a 14/15 team next year how could the TA field competitive teams with the best players in the ECNL and the Academy?

I realize this is a tit for tat, but the back-in-forth speculation of the others' programs collapsing gets really freakin old.

Yes, there is plenty of BS on this forum hoping for the failure of ECNL; adding threads speculating/hoping on the collapse of TA girls' programs isn't any better.

I have seen YOU decry the thin pool of talent in our region so how can YOU say this is hoping for failure?

If you take 60 girls out of the equation U14-17 what is left, Rec level players plus a handful of stars that didn't want to take on either challenge?

Visualize the future and get back to us!

How about you stop with the personal insults and answer the question!

Tell us what the TA/OYSA HS age girls programs are going to look like going forward. We will see this year what effect three high level programs will have on the 16/17's. We know what the DA did to the boys and that was with out an ECNL like program for boys.

Tell me how the TA/OYSA girls programs in the Metro area survive? Why pay that amount of money to play "premier" when it clearly won't be anything more than select?

BTW Dogs cross the street to have me pet them!

This is dumb. Not all A team girls went to TA or ECNL, their are plenty of players that are good quality/top players that are not in TA OR ECNL, due to money or other reasons. QUit acting like 100 percent of the talent in Oregon is gone.

So funny, you berate someone and then get mad when someone does it to you. What a hypocrite. And they aren't letting you pet them, they are using your leg for relief. Few TA/OYSA girls went to ECNL. ECNL all came from the OPL. The OPL is likely the one that will have the reduced numbers. And that's just based upon logic, unlike the hate you have for OYSA. Now go outside, someone has a dog that needs to go.

Who cares ? If your DD isnt good enough to make either of the top teams she's still NOT good enough for you to worry about what league she should be in. If you are, then that is your problem and not one that will be figured out here by others. Do you really want to take the advice of a nameless/faceless person posting here what your kid should be doing ?

this is a valid question...OPL is already depleted....OPL and OYSA will be second fiddle...but that is fine, clubs just need to develop a plan to take care of those kids, because their are places for them to play after club and high school.

I didn't recognize AP. You're right, it reads just like one of APs posts. I wonder if AP is still mad at someong for caring how AP spends their money?

I have decried the league split and those that have contributed to it. I have been particularly critical of the Timbers because they are the only ones I write checks to (not that others have been angels).

Cheering for each other's programs to fail just gets old.

They all are going to fold. Fold like a cheap suit I tell you. OPL, OYSA, Thorns, ECNL, all gone in two years. The ten kids at each age group who are worth anything will just car pool to Seattle and play up there. Leave all the Portland fields to the lacrosse teams.

Timbers aren't folding . . . too many idiots like me forking over $ for season tickets (and thousands waiting in line behind us), although if they continue their wonderful PR streak this week, they might get lumped in with the rest.

Are you suggesting that the ECNL teams were populated primarily from OPL clubs because the OPL clubs had most of the top talent all along? Seems logical to me.
