Reading this article several goalies grew up in NW Washington playing on Turf surfaces, so watering down the field should prove not good enough since Washington is a rainy state.

I would think that including football players into the analysis that she has done on goalies, would be helpful. Clearly that is not a study, but football players roll around an awful lot on turf and it's not limited to one position. And you need to compare goalies and football players who play on grass to those that play on turf to see if there is any coorelation to the turf potentially being a cause. Based upon what I see so far, I think it's more of an unfortunate coincidence than a potential cause.

Nothing wrong with watching and doing some studies on it, but I would have to agree that it is still inconclusive at best. Bigger study, both sexes, and would like to see ages.

The burden of proof should lie with manufacturers before they start selling what is at first glance an obviously risky product for kids. This is exactly the kind of dangerous manufacturing we ridicule China for.

Consider ....
NIKE has a product to replace the ground up tires with ground up old soles of its running shoes. The old shoe material has been tested and is considered non-toxic to humans. Old tire material in some tests is toxic to humans. Probably some reader knows of a local field being installed now using the NIKE material.
