    New U20 Women's team cycle

    http://www.ussoccer.com/us-under20-w...l-team/stories

No Florida players at all. Almost all froom ECNL clubs. Florida ODP is not getting it done.

ECNL expansion in Florida is really needed to get our players developed to the point where they can make the national team pipeline. Currently we are developing good collegiate level players but need more technical development to take the Florida pool to the next level.

Yeah, but we can train them for the Jamaican National Team....

      ECNL NOT the answer

Big, fast, Direct players are what we produce in Florida and who get chosen in ODP. Good for the college game but until technical development is a focus instead of winning there won't be many Fla girls in the pro and National Team ranks. ECNL can't fix that, at least not in the short run.

is the ECNL better than NPL? in what ways? better top tier national clubs are at ECNL and not at NPL?

ENCL started for this group when they were u15/16s. Highly doubtful that it provided any training that can be directly correlated to their making u20 team camp. How many of them played ECNL that first year? Or rather, how many migrated to an ECNL club two or three years ago? How many of them were chosen because they excelled in the college game and they happened to have a ECNL club named behind them? Just because someone played soccer at the Sockers, doesn't mean they played for the ECNL team. Your much too quick to jump to the ENCL is better because of the 20s team camp.

No matter how you look at it. Those ladies were at a club that is now ECNL. If they became ECNL when they were u15 they were still with the club.

sort of like saying I was in the airforce so I can fly planes. seriously, each individual should be judged on her OWN merits (individual awards and accomplishments) NOT the name of a club she may or may not have spent any time training at. and that is what this amounts to, getting your name attached to a club where ecnl is... has nothing to do with actual skill or development, and that is the pathetic thing we call ecnl here in florida.

Rose, the goal keeper, is from Region D. She ended up on an ECNL team up there.

You assume clubs got ECNL and their teams stayed the same and their kids were the kids trained by that club. The truth is, many of the better ECNL players came from other clubs and have only been with an ECNL club for one or two years.

It's true for now that the ECNL clubs are getting better exposure for their kids but it is not yet true that these kids are the result of development at the ECNL clubs.
