    DAP or Bust.......Bust

I noticed at the Needham/Wellesley game and on the website that at least two Revs DAP (AN and TD) players have left the Revs to play school ball and non DAP club soccer. Both are heading back to NEFC from where they came prior to the Revs.

Any other DAP defections to enjoy the high school season? I thought this was taboo.

Very common once players get college commitments

No, it is not very common at all with DAP payers. The small handful that have done it have no moral or ethical backbone and clearly do not understand the age old principle of not burning bridges. If I were their upcoming college coach, I would have deep reservations about them. Quit once, means your probably will quit again when it suits you

I don't understand how a college coach does not question the work ethic of a recruit that does this. Why wouldn't you maintain a soccer schedule similar to what you would experience in college? I agree that there is something lacking in any athlete that would do this.

Would you rather play for Ed Kelly or Brian Scales? Brian Scales could not win a college game if he had the 11 best players from New England. He currently cant win anything with the Revs who are suppose to have the best players in New England. Revs are a disgrace!

Yeh Revs are really all about loyalty. They drop players continuously in heartbeat without a second thought. Some boys want to play HS ball with their friends, go for it. What incredible DAP arrogance, congrats to them for telling the Revs to stick it!

Pardon my ignorance, but does Ed Kelly coach a high school team?

Loyalty has nothing to do with it. The Revs can cut whomever they deem isn't necessary for their team.

Dah which way did he go...
Kids would play high school in the fall and for Kelly in the spring

This is about playing at the highest level you can. Pushing yourself and playing against the best. Scales is irrelevant. What, no kid should ever play for someone they don't like? What if they get to college and don't like that coach? Don't like that system? What then? They become one of those players that transfers every year. Seriously, it is one more season in your life. You are dropping down to play high school, so what, you can stroke your ego by being the "best" player on the field. A field full of kids whose highest athletic achievement will be high school soccer. So you can be the mvp and possibly the player of the year?? The whole venture is purely egotistical nothing more. Scales is an ass...no doubt, but these kids aren't much better.

But players can't play for whomever they deem? Your first impulse is immediate revenge, pull the scholarship! What incredible arrogance and it seems you used to controlling kids lives, can't cope with some independence. Even more pleased now they told Revs to cram it. People like you think you are the solution to youth soccer but in fact, you are the problem.

Do you believe that D1 coaches want their players to be independent? To just decide one day to be independent of the team? Do you believe that there are a whole ton of D1 coaches just itching to have that non conformist on their team? The kid that rocks the boat...gee wouldn't he be fun!! You sign that NLI and that coach owns you for a year...you don't get in line and you don't get another offer.

Don't the Revs give waivers to some players to play High School in the fall and rejoin them in the Spring? If it is okay and acceptable for those players why is it not for those other 2 boys?In regards to playing at the highest level…does that include Seacoast, Bolts and Empire? There is only one quality team in that division and that is the New York Red Bulls. Lets face it, we are still one of the weakest areas in the nation. If you doubt this go research how many New England players are on any of our boys' national teams.

A second rate controll freak coach would want the robot. A more thoughtful coach would want the more intelligent player and respect these players.
