    U15B WT-FC, A new powerhouse?

For once in a long time, WT-FC is in a fantastic position to dominate Pac NW soccer. The boys U15 Reds, led by coach Victor Garcete, is without dount the best team at age in Oregon and is in the top 3 of Washington. They are starting to attract good talent from other clubs.

They are helped by the fact that Oregon high schools will be playing in the fall and Oregon club soccer shuts downs for now. I would say that if you have a U15B in Portland who is SERIOUS about soccer, then you should find him a way to get to this team. In exchange for giving up high school soccer, he will get top quality soccer against the best teams in Washington.

It's probably the first time that a Vancouver team is in a great position to dominate NW soccer and go National. (I'm not affiliaited with this team)

Yes, they have picked up talent from Oregon teams. I heard the transfers were allowed because they are between Timbers Alliance teams.

They are a "top team" because of their summer record in tournaments, against the top Oregon teams, and in NWCL. They are playing in RCL 1 this fall.

I'm not trying to take anything away from PDX teams but they cannot offer the caliber of competition that WT-FC can and WT-FC is delivering the goods.

They are a good team. I think they may be 1 or 2 star players short to be top of the heap.

O.K., that was a nice break. Now lets get back to the circular, nonsensical arguments about the Thorns, ECNL and how both cost to much to play bad against superior competition. Or that they do well, therefore the leagues they play in are now watered down.

              You know, the important stuff.

I agree with OP. These young men have already beaten all of the strong pdx teams. They have tied the best of WA. If they add some strong players coming from Oregon, the possibility is there to go far.

Possibility...I will wait until I see more concrete results then summer friendlies and tie games...

Have they beaten WPFC or CFC Galacticos yet? Didn't think so...

Yeah, just what sane Portland parents want to do, drive their kid up to Vancouver in 5pm traffic for practice.

Do you expect the best soccer to be at the neighborhood park? Driving for an hour is nothing new for the parents of elite soccer players.

That's where WT_FC teams practice anyway, neighborhood parks. They don't have any decent fields... And nobody in their right mind every moves "TO" WT_FC. Most of the people that are there can't wait to get out...

Nor have they beaten Crossfire Oregon or FC Portland.

They have not played all of the teams in PDX and may never have the opportunity to go against them all. But they beaten all the ones they've played against and that is without any of the new Oregon players added to the team.

They tied the best team in the state of WA, WA Premier, earlier this month in NWCL play. (WP may have added some U16s to that team)

I think it's reasonable to say that WT-FC is going to be a strong contender for WA state cup.

If you have a U15 boy that is serious about soccer, get him in front of this coach.
