It will be a successful ECNL season if..

So how will we determine if the first season of Oregon ECNL is a success?

    1. Does a team have to finish 3rd in the Division?
    2. Does a team have to have less than an average -2 GD?
    3. How many college offers does a 16 or 17 team have to get to be considered successful four? six? eight?
    4. How much improvement in the ability to play fast and smart do players 14-16 have to show for it to be considered a successful season for a player?

Just exactly what are the measures going to be?

The players enjoy themselves and get better. And their parents think they got their money's worth. That will be tough for the concern trolls to monitor but it's really all that matters.

Wow, major lowering of expectations…We have gone from ECNL teams will dominate soccer because they are a member of the much celebrated ECNL, to "all that matters is the girls have fun and the parents feel like they get their money's worth" Sounds like the expectations you might have of a rec program...

I would guess individual players/parents have different goals to judge their success. Coaches and clubs may have a different matrix.

Will these posts ever stop? Is someone paying you fools to attack ECNL round the clock? Or are you just that bored and stupid?

Come on. Nobody has high expectations. It seems like everyone is realistic about the chances of being competitive.

We are fine with where we are so why not let us do our thing and you do your thing. We don't need to worry about what the other are doing.

This is rather disingenuous…Always the victim…Much has been made with ECNL folks feeling they are being attacked as part of an organized campaign, however there are just as many attacks posted about how poor the Thorns Academy will be…I would love to see both sides just get on with it and stop complaining about the other…I just haven't seen much evidence of it yet.

Wow. The very first response was a concern troll. Why do you care? If a player has fun and there's value, how can you possibly think that's bad? The value has to come from providing the high level experience not a rec experience. If it's not a good experience (ie fun) why do it?

All you have to do is read the posts on this forum. People were originally excited about the ECNL coming. Then it came, TA didn't get it and the attacks started. People were excited for it. Not bragging about it.

Now you idiots have this chip on your shoulder when someone sticks up for the ECNL. It is a joke. You people are a joke. You can't let it go. Why worry about it if you're not in it? Why say how bad it is or will be? What is the point? What is your objective?

You are oh so wrong. This is going to take our girls to the top levels of soccer nationally. It's bringing all the top players together and the results will be amazing. If you're in, get in, sit down, buckle up and quiet yourself. It's going to be a heck of a ride for girls and proud parents!

Uh no...no one said the Academy will not be a powerhouse in their schedule. You are confusing having that "schedule" called out for not being in any way comparable to an ECNL schedule and the "program" getting called out for the limited number of opportunities it will give those 20+ girls at the most critical juncture in their careers.

Everyone with an ounce of soccer knowledge expects the team to win every game until Regionals and that is not "attacking".

The girls are going to shine.

You need to check your meds! I'm as big an ECNL supporter as you will find in the Metro area and I have never said anything close to what you have concocted to be the mind set of ECNL parents and I have never heard anything similar in a year on the ECNL side lines.

Yes we are excited for the opportunity that the ECNL provides but not a single parent has vocalized to me or has posted it will "take our girls to the top levels of soccer nationally".

I guess since lying about the cost didn't scare enough people away now you have to invent expectations so that when the results are less than your fictitious claims you will be able to feel good coming back and saying "see I told ya so"

The joke is one you because not a single parent who is smart enough to have enough money to pay for this opportunity is dumb enough to think what you have projected. We all know it's nothing more than an opportunity and that our DD's will have to make the best of it and not every team is going to experience a smooth ride.

What does being smart have to do with having enough money to pay for ECNL? Only smart people can afford it? If you can't afford it, what does that say about you?

It's pretty simple really. Smart people have more money 99% of the time, Right? If they're smart enough to have the money to pay for ECNL they ain't falling for your bs lines. See? Simple. Easy. Go away.
