Maybe some want to help their kids. Sounds like you are part of a "stable" two parent household but maybe everyone is not as lucky. Maybe your comment is a joke .. but perhaps they should offer this to the ex-jock know all sport dads that often patrol the sideline screaming for a foul every time their kid gets touched.

Good marketing on their part. Will they have the hot guy with a British or Irish accent as the cherry on the top?

    I assume they is for........

I wish there was a mandatory training program for all parents that made them not only learn the game but how to behave at one properly. make it a requirement for any kid to play organized soccer..and send the violators back to remedial classes when they don't use common sense and respect towards others. I think this moms clinic is great and hope those that participate enjoy it. and I agree with the posters comments about the know-it-all dads too

Crazed parents who think they know every thing are part of every youth sport, but I agree the more parents understand the game the better. I never played soccer as a kid so I've learned along the way - asking questions, doing some reading now and then. Being an assistant coach when my kids were U-little helped a lot, even if I mostly tied shoelaces. That I said I know I'm still a novice and don't argue with refs or coaches and just cheer the kids on the sidelines.

Over the years I've seen varying degrees of clubs/teams/coaches dealing with crazy parents. A strong organization won't tolerate it and squashes it quickly.

          Cuts both ways

Crazed coaches who think they know every thing are part of every youth sport, but I agree the more coaches understand the kids the better. I never studied child psychology when I was in college (I did go actually) so I've learned along the way - asking questions, doing some reading now and then. Being an dutiful parent when my kids were U-little helped a lot, even if I mostly tied shoelaces. That I said I know I'm still a novice and don't argue with parents so I just try to encourage/teach the kids on the sidelines as best I can.

Over the years I've seen varying types of parents dealing with crazy coaches. A confident parent won't tolerate them and squashes one quickly.

I am hoping for a significant reduction in the use of the term "boot it" on the pitches throughout the area this fall!

Nope, it is not. And sometimes the moms *gasp* know more about soccer than the dads.
