    Private schools

While not directly linked to soccer, there is always chest thumping that goes on in the ISL threads and this information might provide some interesting fodder in future discussions. Interesting because not many ISLs are included in the top 50 and I find that hard to believe.

These are all boarding schools and the top 50 is about salaries for headmasters - nothing to do with academic rating.

By my quick count, 8 of the 16 ISLs are listed here. And the remainder likely are not because, if you read the article, it was a survey was of boarding schools, not day schools. So that likely leaves out most of the rest.

About half of them do. The rest are day schools.

We all wish it were that easy. Academically, a top student is going to get a great GPA and get SAT and ACT scores where ever they go to school, public or private.

But having sent kids to both public and private schools, public school athletic programs and facilities put the private schools to shame. For overall school years experience, the privates far outshine publics

Your kids experience only. Impossible to extrapolate.

Funny. Why are some of the very best schools free? (West Point, Anapolis, Air Force etc.)

Public school athletic programs and facilities outshine private schools? Not in my neck of the woods.

Those schools aren't "free": the student-soldiers pay later via a service commitment, which for more than the past 10 years has been during wartime.

Talk about an agenda. The "my super smart and outstanding soccer player didn't get into Harvard because of politics so now they are at Trinity and I am angry about it" one. These are the same people who never seem to get that some people just have "IT" while others don't because they don't recognize that "IT" exists. Admissions all come down to the "spike"!

I am sure some want the action but I doubt many are actually in harms way. Clearly the air force, navy and coast guard has not been meaningfully engaged.

Don't forget the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.... the forgotten service academy.
