    Surf Cup

Only two Oregon teams this year:

    FCP Navy '98 Boys
    THUSC Onyx Girls

So tell me again how all the girls on the non-ECNL teams in Oregon are getting big-time exposure to college coaches???

Summer Surf cup is just a tournament but the thanksgiving surf is for college exposure.

Yep. Missed Crossfire Oregon GU18. Doesn't change the statement about college exposure for girls playing at non-ECNL clubs in Oregon...

There is no comparison to ECNL when it comes to college exposure but to be FAIR to the girls who worked hard to get to the USYS Regional and the US Club Nationals we need to tip our hat to the exposure they get there.

I suspect the WT/TS 16's will acquit themselves admirable...the rest are going to get creamed at Regionals. DK about the competition at US Club but good look to the Oregon entries!

Been to both and both have a ton of college coaches attending.

A number of teams went to Thanksgiving Surf. CO had two our three teams there and WT U16 was there in Super Group. And remember that a large number of teams went to Las Vegas as well. And don't forget the exposure that NWCL, FWRL, and the various regional tournaments provide. And if people want to spend the money, they can go to Disney, North Carolina, Denver, Mustang, Albion and others that I am forgetting. This isn't being said as a comparison to ECNL, but to refute your statement that they don't get exposure.

Exactly.... that's if you are lucky enough to align your DK with a club/Team good enough to get in. It's not enough to just have a group of kids that want to go or can afford it.

Anyone can go to Thanksgiving Surf if you have the money and apply. Summer Surf declines more than 200 teams per age. Both are great tourneys

Really? 24 spots total per age. Top 12 are in Super Group, next 12 in Gold. So I guess only 24 teams apply. Moron.

Though they are playing in the U18 age group the team is the 96 (U17) Blue Reign.

That technicality does not diminish your point about the LMITED access to Surf for Oregon girls.

So which number of Onyx does your daughter wear? Unsurprisingly Onyx parent trying to put their team up while putting other teams down.
