Not really. Most questions were around player selection and playing time.

Oh man do people have a rude awakening coming if they move over to ECNL. The substitution rules state that once removed in a half, you cannot reenter. Therefore, coaches are going to substitute only when they have someone better on the bench than the player currently out on the field, otherwise, why sub? There will be no more "everyone is going to get playing time" stances by coaches. Plus, with the added fact that winning is very important in ECNL, certainly in the early years to ensure the programs succeed, then you are going to see a lot of games where a lot of players get little to no playing time. Add in the fact that the ECNL teams can only play in the ECNL leagues, you don't have local leagues where the weaker players get playing time.

Therefore, when factoring in the time and money committments Moms and Dads, you better be sure your DD is one of the top players, otherwise, you may be paying a lot of money to see her play 5 or 10 minutes, if that. And to see her play, you are going to have to travel most of the time. There won't be any trips over to THPRD or Rock Creek to watch her play. To see her play, you will be hopping on the airplane with her.

Thaks for the information, I mean MISinformation. If you and your daughter have no intentions of going to an ECNL team, why do you care so much. GO AWAY and let those of us who see the value in ECNL do our thing. Very happy that my daughter will now have the opportunity to play on an ECNL team. It is because of the negativity of folks like you that we are leaving our Timbers Alliance team.

It's because the TA trolls are out in force to try and stop the exodus from their clubs. They are now paying the price for not valuing girls soccer. People are not stupid. They can see how little TA clubs care about girls. It's all about boys.

It sounds like you are starting to get an understanding of the term competitive.
My DD is looking forward to it.

Yes, it is competitive, but you are misinformed on a couple of points.

                      1. Players on ECNL rosters who aren't getting a lot of playing time in ECNL competitions can also be rostered on the B team and get playing time in the state league.
                      2. The ECNL teams do not take everybody to away events. Those who are unlikely to play stay home, and parents don't have to pay for the travel for that event.
                      3. Players who aren't getting a lot of playing time in ECNL events will get playing time in non-ECNL events (summer tournaments, NWCL).

Did they say how much it was going to cost? Can you make payments or use credit cards?

ECNL estimated costs are up on websites.

Your club fees ($2000) will have the usual payment plans currently offered.
The travel portion is ad hoc and occurs prior to the trip. Not sure about credit cards for this. I'm only guessing this will be club dependent.
So you don't write a check for $7k (or whatever) your travel payments are as needed
