    BU14: Mass State Cup 2014

Of all the boys U14's, the following is a list of the top 15 teams in the state based on their points in their respective league. Only took teams with double digit points. 7 from MAPLE, 8 from NEP. One of these teams will win this years state cup. Most likely one of the teams from the top 5 I assume. At least that's where my money would beas the top 5 are all within 3 points of each other. AFter that there is a 4 point drop to #6. Should be fun.

    W-D-L, PTS:
    --------------
    Noreaster, 7-1-1, 22
    NHPSA, 6-2-0, 20
    Scorpions, 6-2-0, 20
    Abbey Villa, 5-4-0, 19
    Spartans, 6-1-2, 19
    MPS Knights, 4-3-1, 15
    CSU, 4-2-3, 14
    MPS Crusaders, 4-1-3, 13
    VSA United, 4-0-5, 12
    AC Arlington, 3-3-3, 12
    Black Watch, 3-3-3, 12
    NEFC Elite, 3-1-4, 10
    MPS Bulldogs, 3-1-4, 10
    Valeo, 3-1-5, 10
    Western United Pioneers, 3-0-5

Not sure how accurate this type of table is. NEP's top division is stronger top to bottom than Maple so some Maple records are inflated by playing teams like Valeo, Hammer, and Berkshire IFC in the Fall.

Scorpions are clearly the top team. After that the following teams could win or lose to each other on any day:

    Noreaster
    Abbey Villa
    Spartans
    MPS Knights
    MPS Crusaders
    CSU

I also wouldn't count out NEFC or MPS Bulldogs although they had challenges in the fall.

State Cup will be competitive up to the final. Scorpions likely won't be challenged again once it is over.

The only thing I'm sure of is that NHPSA won't win.

And it counts for nothing that Abbe lVilla beat both the MPS Knights and Bulldogs? Spartans and Knights tied. Both in the GPS Labor Day Tournament.

And it counts for nothing that the records of the NEP teams are inflated by playing the likes of the Bolts. Bruno, and Bayside, all with a combined record of 3-3-18 and a point total between them of a massive 12 points. Some of those NEP teams have overblown records and point total by playing these teams.

But it all counts for nothing.

We'll see at the end where they all stand and most importantly, who will be playing the Scorpions in the finals.

I am sure that your not surprised that this thread like many others has already turned into a ******* match about nep being better than maple and maple being watered down. Let them have their cake and let's see what happens

            State Cup Brackets are out.
It is funny that the 3 top GPS teams are placed in the same round robin group (assuming that they win the pre round-robin match). Also, another group only has MAPLE teams.

So basically the top four will be:

Scorpions SC [as they will win their group, NEFC & Spartans are also here]

A GPS team [from what I heard, they are all kind of evenly matched]

A MAPLE team [AV, CIS or ACA, teams are close but I list them based on fall results]

            and
lastly Western Utd Pioneers Red or Nor'easter. However, both VSA & Valeo have a chance.

U13 and U14's have not been bracketed yet

Can you read? There aren't any brackets for U14. U14's play in a single elimination that consists of 32 teams (max). From that 32, after the tournament, we will have 1 teams. Then, and only then, will the U14 (and U13) teams replaced into brackets.

Even though the tab might say brackets, they won;t be bracketed until after the 32 team tournament. Of which there are on;y 29 teams. From those 29 teams, we will have 16 after the tournament.

So, the only 2 things one can get from the U14 listing right now is

                      1) either your first game in the 32 team tournament, or if you have a bye. For instance, seed #4 (Western United) will be playing seed #29 MPS Cavs select. If #4 loses, then all other teams below #4 automatically move up on seeding. Get it?

                      2) The scorpions get a by and will be in RED bracket. ACA will be in BLACK bracket and the Knights will be in Blue bracket. Who else will be in those brackets has not yet been determined. For instance you have NEFC Elite in Black bracket with Scorpions and Spartans. Neither NEFC or Spartans might make it past the 32 team elimination tournament, in which case, no bracket for those teams.

If yopu're confused about anything, just ask me, and I will clear it up for you.

                      You F'ing D-Bag. :-)

It seems you're the one who can't read, my friend. I was quoting the tab title on the seeding spreadsheet which reads: "BU14 BRACKETS". Fully aware of how the process works, thanks.

                          Question regarding the MPS teams

Are the MPS teams the teams (i.e. rosters) that played in the NEP during the regular season or will they be GPS teams (as listed on the brackets regarding 'club') and pull 4-8 kids (to keep >/=51% of the roster constant) in from the outside states to make a GPS team??

The club already makes adjustments for the NEP championships from the NEP teams (league based on calendar year) to those based on birth year.

                            updates

Scorpions do no appear clear favorites after early results. Heard Villa tied MPS Crusaders in a scrimmage. Who are favorites?

                            Scorpions?
                            Noreaster?
                            MPS Kinight?

                            Is that it?

The club just went through a renaming so GPS - MA is the old MPS.
