    Dap

It was a good weekend for Mass DAP teams.
The 7-0 lopsided win for U16 Revs over Oakwood was a surprise....or not??
Is this Revs team that good or is Oakwood that bad?

All 3 Revs teams are very good. should be interesting to see where they end up.U18 team is 8-2-1. U14 are 6-2 and have been totally out playing U15/U16 teams in friendly matches against western and bayside. U16 team are on a roll with just 2 losses all year.

U16 Revs did not play Oakwood. They played FC Weschester.

Sorry. My mistake. It was still a lopsided game. Is the U16 team that good or has Westchester lost some players?

Westchester has struggled this year, but will surely gain next year when they merge with Everton and are fully funded.

Look for the revs 16's and the bolts 18's to both make the playoffs and do well this spring.

              Everton??
Everton has already 'merged' with clubs in Conn. but has not fully funded any. What makes you sure that they are planning on funding Westchester......a team already at the heart of money.
I think it will be more like the Celtic-Bolts merger.

There was nothing in this that suggested Everton was going to fully fund the DAP teams...or any other Westchester team. This reads almost exactly the way the Bolts-Celtic merger, or, more realistic, relationship, read.
In fact, my read (and it is my interpretation not anyone else's) of the statement led me to believe that it was written so that no one would even consider the idea that there was a significant (full team funding) relationship developing.

The new Everton FC Westchester team will be tuition free at 15/16 & 17/18 DAP. Everton CT has a ton of teams an an owner with deep pockets. FC Westchester gets a great pipeline. Everton FC gets a DAP program to ward off Beachside. Furthermore, it's the stated goal of USSF for all teams to go this route.

As "Everton Soccer Dad" posted, the following bold print text from the announcement indicates that the DAP teams will be fully funded:

"It will also allow Everton FC Westchester to make its U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy programs tuition free."

I can vouch that is indeed the case with Everton FC Westchester.

I think the more meaningful discussion is that USSF wants all DAP clubs to go this route. Obviously the MLS clubs can do it. Not sure all the smaller clubs will be able to swing it.

How are the Bolts going to achieve this? I don't think there is a big financial benefit for the Bolts in partnering with Celtic. Maybe they should have been a bit smarter and sought out a benefactor. They do seem to have beefed up the business by spreading out and adding more teams and affiliates. Their prices are in the top 5% of all clubs now with yearly fund-raisers. Perhaps this will increase their money reserves to fully fund the DAP, but I am concerned that the quality of all the other teams is suffering from being too expensive, mediocre coaching, and lack of administrative organization.

With regard to the latter two, I think that NEFC and Blazers are head and shoulders above.

Any speculation on this weekends games? See the Bolts-Celts have NYRB coming in, Revs face S Central - have the rosters settled out? How did winter training go?

Good luck to both teams this weekend, figure the Revs have the easier time this Sat but hoping Bolts get off to a fast start and can hold off the New Yorkers....

Bolts 18s could pull the upset. Bolts 16s will keep it close, but lose by a goal or two in the end. Revs 18s should win, but the game will be closer than the records reflect. Revs 16s will win in a blowout.
