Sarah Luebbert on coming back to the Red Stars, NWSL and what she learned in Mexico

Sarah Luebbert has only been to one training session so far since returning to the Chicago Red Stars, but she already has more confidence now than she did as a rookie in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Luebbert was picked up by the Chicago Red Stars in 2020 and made her debut in the inaugural NWSL Challenge Cup that year, a competition created out of necessity after the pandemic canceled the regular season. Luebbert primarily featured as a substitute during her first year in Chicago. Then, in an effort to get more significant playing time, she went on loan to Club América in Liga MX Femenil.

Her career for América provided plenty of valuable experience and quality minutes.
