Sent to all families...
Dear LFCIA WA Families,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on our current status as a club. As many of you know, we have experienced a significant size reduction. In response, we are implementing cost-cutting measures to ensure the club's sustainability.
We are working hard however to continue to improve, and as we move away from the transition and all of the unfortunate noise and behavior that went with it (and no I do not post anywhere online - someone has too much time on their hands!), we are moving quickly toward the vision we have been implementing over the last 12 months.
New additions based on observation and your feedback include a technical session for each team each week. This is needed at our club and the players will benefit greatly from it over the course of the season. We also have a new internal structure and communication plan which you will see making a difference effective immediately. We are fully aware that we have not been good enough over the last twelve months and now we are in a place to fully address everything we need to without hurdles. Thank you for sticking with our club, and we fully intend to work hard to justify your decision.
Despite all of our challenges, and we know it has not been easy, we feel the club is in a good place now regarding the membership working towards a culture change. We are also proud to say that we maintain a high standard of coaches dedicated to our players' development. We have a wonderful group of parents who want to help and want the club to grow. It is very promising. The expectation was to shrink last year, but it was delayed. The reduction this year was not unexpected and despite some of the rhetoric out there which we choose to ignore, we are excited about rebuilding the club on the strong foundation that is our current membership.
Communication
In our efforts to improve communication, we have completely revamped our communication strategy. There is now a new "Contact Us" page on our website. If you do not hear back from your coach within 24 hours (Monday to Friday) or have questions regarding uniforms, finances, registration, or need to speak with a director, please select the appropriate button on this page for a prompt response Monday - Friday. The soccer buttons on the contacts page will ensure your message reaches the appropriate directors.
Tournaments
We also want to address our recent approach to tournament participation. Unfortunately, our new idea of asking teams which tournaments they want to attend did not work out as planned. We recognize the issues that arose during the summer tournament cycle and apologize for any inconvenience caused. We have learned from this experience and have developed a new plan for next year to ensure a smoother process. We will be sending out a survey soon regarding this.
Fundraiser
In exciting news, we are holding a golf fundraiser on August 12th. Visit our website here to register or for more information. This fundraiser will help keep our club strong and we offer you the chance to play at an exclusive course in the process.
Camps/Mini-reds/Clinics
Additionally, we have moved our Mini-Reds program to Central Park this year, believing it will provide a better experience for our young players. Keep an eye out for information and registration details for our Winter Academy, which will be avallable in the coming week.
Check here for details on upcoming camps and clinics.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate these changes. We are committed to providing the best possible experience for all our players and families.
Best regards,
LFCIA WA Leadership Team
