    Insurance Companies Control Leagues

This interesting statement from Cincy SC in Ohio:

“Leagues are affiliated with either US Youth Soccer or US Club Soccer, both of which are basically insurance companies.”

    https://cincysc.com/leagues/

So US Club and US Youth are insurance that create leagues like ECNL, Elite 64, etc. that require players to buy player cards that have include secondary insurance, which hardly anyone uses. Where does the money go? It’s like State Farm running car and boat dealerships and requiring buyers to purchase insurance from them. Fishy.

This is a vast oversimplification and invites readers to overgeneralize. Cincy SC, which apparently places teams in both US Club and US Youth leagues, has their own reasons for characterizing things this way for their customers.

but they are not wrong, tho…..they are mainly selling insurance…why are insurance companies creating and controlling Leagues and then charging insurance premiums to players in those leagues. Seems they are creating, controlling and profiting from the risk.
