Absolutely, This isnt an argument about who should get development credit. Should everyone send their kid to Eastside since Jordan Morris is currently the most successful player to come out of the region since 2013?

The point is, Sounders Homegrown program has been successful FOR THE SOUNDERS and the Sounders are one of the best at utilizing the homegrown program.

i have never said going to college was a bad option.

THE SOUNDERS ACADEMY PROVIDES THE MOST DIRECT ROUTE TO TGE SOUNDERS FIRST TEAM. THAT IS A FACT.

There are additional benefits, but those additional benefits can be reached in alternative ways. Its not for everyone. Don't participate if its not for you.

    Stop being a victim

The Sounders problem isn’t BINGY it’s the low cost coaches they employe. It is true if you want to make the Sounders one must go to SU. Just think how good those players would become if they stayed with Chursky. It’s a shame they lose ground for the sake of a very few.

This whole thread is funny, everyone knows who the top 2-3 players are per age group, it's not a secret. EVERYONE else is a team filler and will be cut, prepare yourself for it. If you are not the top 2-3 player of your age group the Sounders are a terrible idea. The notion that their training is so much better is comical, they have dead average club coaches that are same as everywhere else. The level is higher, but you will be lucky to play 10-15 games a year, nowhere near enough, not even close.
Not commenting on most of this post. Will just say that this is not like DA where you get only a few matches. The boys have 22 regular season matches + they got 12 matches at events. Playoffs they will get at least 3 more games, more if they advance. This doesn’t include scrimmages within club, with local clubs and against Reign or college teams. There are a good amount of games in MLSNEXT.

Ragen and Rothrock barely played for SA and both played four years of college.

Corbin Carroll. He plays OF for the Diamondbacks.

So sounders academy did another showcase/event. Does anybody know the teams involved? And what are the point of these? With 20+ kids already rostered are they looking for more players?

                      You mean a scrimmage?

They are always looking for better players. Nature of the beast.

Whoops, looks like somebody just learned the dirty little secret of Sounders Academy. There are maybe 2-3 kids per age group tops that they care about whatsoever - everybody else is just cannon fodder that they’ll happily drop at the first moment it’s convenient to them.

LOL it's not a dirty little secret, it's not pay to play like your club. If you don't make the cut you don't make the cut. That's how competitive soccer works, and how it works at every academy in the world.

Correct, but the rest of the world has a real pathway to Pro soccer. Here you are cut at 16 or offered a bogus minor league contract. The teams have U-19 and U-23 programs and on and on.

hahahahaha! That makes total sense. I assume all of the other academy coaches are also on the take too? How deep does this conspiracy go??
