Thoughts on EA? I know Gunners have had it for a while, but Titans just got in as well. Worth the tryout?

My understanding is it's not as good as ECNL, but better than RCL and WPL. While ECNL is the best path to D1, EA may be a good way to get more visibility to D3 (i.e., star on an EA team vs ride the bench on ECNL). But, mileage may vary. It's a new league overall. More local teams will cut down the travel.

EA is NO WHERE NEAR the level of RCL. Maybe RCL D2. it is more like WPL they use the same teams, EA is for WPL, ECNL is for RCL

Out of curiosity, what is your reasoning, thought process for this? The EA seems to have some good teams in it across the country...Juventus Academy, Barca Residency, PSG Academy, etc.

As a parent who has a kid that played ecnl for several years but are now in EA after moving to different area: NOT THE SAME. They are trying, and doing a good job. BUT, expect to put in work to get D1 visibility outside of the league. Mostly D2/3 and NAIA scouts at tournaments. The level of play is also significantly lower and feels like GIANT step back. It is what it is for us, if you have options and your kid can play, don’t go EA.

You are not wrong, however most of those teams on a national level are usually the clubs 2nd tier team or the ERCL teams. The level of play could be on par with ECNL on a National level however, the PNW conference which is where the majority of games are played are very very subpar teams. the EA teams that compete in WPL Super leagues finish mid to low table.

If the "RCL" clubs would grow a pair and open the closed system up there would be less leagues. NPSL, WPL, RCL, etc. should all be competing in the same pyramid. They don't want to give away those dollars signs at the cost of development, just like the MLS.

It could be amount money but it is also good to have closed that way RCL has more control and can abide to their high standards easier than having 50clubs..

I'm not sure that there's a high standard amongst all RCL clubs - there are some that are not competitive, some are not run well, and some that don't develop players. If competitiveness is your objective, promotion and relegation would easily solve the standards issue.
