    Soccer rankings back

There is an app called soccer rankings out there that is again grabbing tournament info to rank teams across US.

similar to the old site from sports engine. Looks pretty good but appears to be early rollout.

Who cares. Those rankings are always based on tournaments. Much different than league.

Those “rankings” only shows two things: how much money a team dropped in tournaments and how much you won or lost in those tournaments.

You might be thinking gotsoccer points. Where you only get points by playing and ranked by points earned.

This is the same creator as the original Youth Soccer Rankings and uses an algorithm to assign points to each team, much more accurate than GotSoccer!

Also, the value in this, isn't for parents bragging rights, but rather for tournament directors who actually care about seeding tournaments at the appropriate level of competition, and for coaches to help set expectations going into games against "unknown" opponents. Everybody knows what a waste some tournament games can be and has been on one or both sides of a meaningless blowout.

I looked at the WA state rankings and based upon what what I know, it’s not perfect but it’s pretty close.

Yeah rankings, focusing on wins and blowouts for ranking points, doesn’t align well to development or fun for the players. As someone else mentioned it can help with tournament organizers and coaches looking to sign up for tournaments to check prior brackets to see where their team would fit.
