What happens if a d1 player falls under the academic requirements at the end of fall semester? Would they be unable to train? What about spring games? Won’t have spring semester grades yet so will they be unable to play in spring games? What about the next fall? Do they start with a clean slate or do they have to make it back up to minimum standards during the summer?

If they are going to Cal, Stanford, UCLA…and taking a full slate of really hard classes, like bio-physics or aeronautic computations, then laying a few eggs on the grades is normal.
if they are at OSU/UofO, they should be getting 3.5GPA minimum.
If they hitting the weed, henny, going to frat parties or waking up in strange places with no memory of the night before, there are bigger issues than eligibility.
think about all the meathead football players that are staying eligible for four years.Comment

Don’t worry. The standards are so low for athletes that only a complete moron couldn’t make it through. Even then, the athlete will be helped along and will make it through.Comment
