Big Fight at Oregon State vs Utah Women’s Soccer Pac 12 Match

Huge bench clearing fight and 3 red cards issued at end of Oregon State vs Utah game! Coaches and refs had to break it up and pull players off a big pile. Oddly, neither school’s recap even mentions it. 2 players out of camera view got in a fight over something during a throw in much further up the field and then came into camera view just when the Oregon State player football style full on tackled the Utah player. Anyone know what provoked the tackle? Racial slur? When I googled it a bunch of non soccer stuff came up about racism against blacks and asians in Utah schools. I had no idea there was such a problem in Utah. No idea but players don’t full on football style tackle other players for no reason Anyone there and see what happened? Never seen a fight like that in Women’s Soccer and crazy so soon after the tragedy of the poor Utah football player was shot and killed at a big Utah athlete party. Also, anyone know why 2 Oregon State players got reds and only 1 Utah player? Will the video be reviewed and could more red cards be issued or taken away after the fact?

Not quite the brawl as described, unless there's other footage than that link. The first two fighting players are out of frame when the fight first starts then move into the frame. Can't see what precipitated it

Something definitely caused the original fight that led to the pile up. Hopefully not a racial thing. Officials not calling fouls during women’s games often leads to more and more violent fouls. NCAA site has stats on individual red cards for men’s D1 but doesn’t even have the category for women.The rules are not enforced equally for men and women and fouls, yellows & reds are rarely given in women’s games compared to the same infractions in men’s. This leads to more injuries and escalating fouls in the women’s games.
