    Talking soccer site change?

Wondering why the site was changed? New ownership or?

Site software was over 10 years old and was a significant security risk - so it was well overdue. Let us know your thoughts of how we might make it better !

It would be much better if not anonymous- require a log on associate with an email address to post like most message boards so there would be some accountability. I think this would reduce the amount of BS posted and actually attract more people to the site. In its current form it is kind of a joke as you have "characters" more than posters and the site kind of becomes useless at some point because of this. I stopped coming here as frequent because of that. The ads are a must, as you need to pay the bills, and I do not mind them because of that..

Do something about the fonts and widgets. This site is next to useless on a mobile phone.

            Just to respond,

            1) the google link controls the ads more than we do (unfortunately) but we did find a way to get rid of the awful pop up ads. Still looking to see if we can cut down on the inline ads.

            2) We did a register only area of the forum as a test in the Massachusetts forum. Some people took it as legit with screen names and real e-mail addys and IP addresses. The more vocal registered with gmail address that looked questionable and questionable IP addresses. Regardless, it had a small burst of interest and then rapidly died out. It is still live and hasn't had a post in 7 years. While it would make our lives easier to have registered users, clearly that is not what this community wants. If, a number of people respond back to this thread saying they want it, we will be more than happy to set up a registered user only sub-forum in Oregon and see how it goes.

Tough one. Registered users might go some way to reducing the toxicity that renders a good chunk of the Oregon forum completely pointless; see the “E-LITE Academy League” thread for how pathetic it can get.

One thing that's a little annoying is when you click on a thread it starts you at the first page of the thread instead of the last. This means you then have to click to the last page every time to read the newest posts. It should start on the last page of the thread I think
