    Oregon State Women

LS and staff just kicked off their season this week. This incoming class was recruited by MK but it will be interesting to see if she will be able to bring in some studs for the 2022 class and beyond.

I like Oregon State, but if you look at the pool of top soccer players in the US, there are 40+ schools that get to fill out their rosters before OSU even gets to start picking. That is not to say that OSU doesn't get some good players, but overall they will always have much lower overall talent than 40 other schools. So having a .500 season in the Pac12 is probably a success for OSU.

On a bigger picture, soccer is short term, and the school and town is great. Any parent that has a kid there should be very happy.

What is going on at OSU? Is the local ECNL club actually running the team now? Half the players are from there. No strong new staff? No handful of transfers to replace the top players who transferred out and bolster the poor recruiting? Only Power 5 school with no schedule yet? The new Oregon coach came in, rebuilt and beefed up the program immediately. Oregon State is going to get crushed. Can we at least try not to be the doormat of the league? Maybe we’ll get lucky and Utah and UA’s new coaches won’t do anything to improve their teams either.

Any State School should have at least a 1/3rd of their kids from the same State since their parents probably have been contributing for years via taxes. It is more upsetting when State Schools are signing foreign students on practically full rides.

Sorry your daughter isn’t good enough to play there. Your bitterness is transparent.

I agree, full ride for internationals just does not sit right with me right now.

Schedule is out. Looks like some
last minute scheduling but that’s expected with a end of the year staff change.

Finally have KL in charge and his hand picked favorite local club players will get top priority recruiting and playing time. Oregon players deserve special treatment and will destroy the Internationals and out of state players at Oregon and other Pac schools. Oregon players finally given their just rewards. Predict OSU will waltz though and only tie UP and lose to UCLA this year. Go Beaver Nation!

Can tell you have some amount of passive aggressive with this. Sad...

New head coach seems to have a firm grasp on team and whole coaching staff working well together. Much improved atmosphere, Appears OSU AD and company made a great choice. Excited to see how this whole group, Internationals, in state / out of state kids gel as a team... This TEAM of young ladies are very impressive...Go Beavs!!!

I agree. This new staff will change the culture of this program for the good. Just give them time. I'm expecting some major recruits in the near future as well. Go Beavs!!!

Did anyone see the scrimmage today between the OSU and University of Portland women’s teams.

Heard they played very well and was able to see some of their strengths and weaknesses. Good for the ‘21 class to get some action in as well. Looking forward to a great year.

Looked like they lost most of their good players when old coach left.

I don’t know why they struggle to get good players. The school is very good. The town is great.

it’s very frustrating. It’s going to be a long year. It’s frustrating to always be the door mat.

You know that kids that get recruited there are fully aware of that before they go. Sometimes it’s not about winning pac 12 games. Just getting a chance to play college soccer and get an education are enough. Soccer is not everything.

losing soccer games is really good for character building.

The Beavers are Pact 12. They get the very best local recruits. They must have easily dominated Portland in the game. If the Norte Dame coach is truly in charge, they will get top out of state and international recruits starting this year as transfers and then more and more going forward. Things are really looking up with this new coach and new direction!
