My '99 daughter just joined the league. The first weekend experience was fantastic. She likes her coach and her teammates. I asked a few parents about the real chances my daughter--or any ECNL player-- could at U18 get a D1 scholarship. I heard from 5% to 25%, though I heard 15% more than any other after talking to about nine parents. For the parents who are ECNL veterans, what do you think?
Also, there were mixed reactions to trying to get a scholarship through ODP. My daughter would like to give that a shot, too. Any suggestions.
I don't have unrealistic expectations for my daughter. She's really enjoying the ECNL experience and wants to keep improving her game. If she gets a scholarship, fine. If not, that's fine too. She'll go to college either way.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
