WYSE Explosion Girls U16s Top U-16 Team in the State?

Never heard of them? Small team in Wilson North Carolina that have won 9 in a row. Team just took 3 in the Piedmont Conference and a win in the USYS PRO League to boot. Last year they
they defeated Wake FC GA and tied them in 2 meetings. This year the team is stacked and have added a couple of newcomers to include a couple of ECNL players to include one from the NC Courage. The team is mostly local and
hve been together since they were very young. Two great Coaches to boot. Still early, but this may be the best girls U-16 team in the State this year..

Congrats on their success. Unfortunately with the way the leagues are set up, the best teams in the state rarely get to play against each other unless they happen to be in the same league. It would be fun to see an open state cup type tournament that allowed all clubs to enter their teams at a given age group. Best of luck this year. The soccer complex in Wilson is beautiful.

This is comical. This team is no where near the top U16 team in the state.....top 10 maybe.

C'mon man. Look at the actual results. WYSA loses to the only teams with a pulse they have played the past couple years. They only went 1-1-1 in the NC State Cup last Fall against the non-ECNL teams who were eligible to play in that event. They only went 1-1-1 in some lower division of the NCFC College Showcase last Fall. They played in a low division at Jeff Cup and didn't win a game. They got destroyed in a National League event last Spring.

The youthsoccerankings are probably the most accurate ranks out there: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=3128711

I am not basing it on last years results or last seasons results. If I was you might be correct. But the team added a couple of very good players from the NC Courage and two other impact players that are quality and I was able to see them play, twice. They have already defeated two teams in the poll that you posted this season and both of those teams are rated over them. The team is quality.

That poll is flawed and a joke..The Charlotte Independence already lost its first two games with 7 goals against and Charlottes RL team is not on the same plane as the NC Fusion ECNL team..And you could go through another dozen common sense mistakes... https://patch.com/north-carolina/ral...g-success-nodx

The poll is historically pretty accurate. I would say that the weak spot in it (albeit of know fault of its own) is that it can not take into account, and therefore accurately rank really good teams that do not or have not yet played quality competition. You say the Wilson team has massively improved since last spring with the addition of some new talent. The problem is, we'll never know just how good they are unless they play against the best teams in the southeast like the teams at the top of the poll do most weekends. Unless Wilson gets placed in high level tournaments (Jeff Cup, WAGS, NCFC) in the top bracket we will never really know.

                        Hey, jumping in here... https://www.facebook.com/NationalLea...7869871952418/

This is a great team and as long as they do well in the PRO league they will not need to defeat NCFC ECNL, Charlotte ECNL, etc..Would it help to be able to play them, yes, but they dont need them as winning the PRO league and having to get past teams like Clarkstown, CT Rush, etc.. will be enough proof...They have already defeated Wake FC ga, Triangle dpl, and a few of the others and that was before they added 3 quality kids all of whom play straight up the middle and all of whom we are tracking..Here is the thing that makes their success so great, they are in the middle of nowhere, they have no big names, and other then 2 kids they are all local...That is amazing in itself.. Sounds like another parent. Pretty sure Too NCAA D-1 coaches are not trolling youth soccer message boards and certainly are not weighing in with their opinion. The teams you mentioned, Wake FC GA and Triangle DPL aren't even in the top ten in the state. Courage and Charlotte CSA are playing and beating top 20 teams in the country. I do wish them all the best. I've never seen them play. They may be really great. I'm confident they have some really talented players. I just can't believe that with their weak schedule they can make a claim for best U16 team in the state. Get them in a top bracket at WAGS, NCFC, and Jeff Cup. Win there and shut us all up.

Lets get the facts straight. WYSA added only one player from Courage who returned to WYSA this year due to a number of reasons. This player is talented, but didn't instantly make this WYSA team some super power. Bottom line is WYSA doesn't play any elite teams in that NLPC league. That league is watered down, because all the legit clubs/teams in the southeast are now playing in ECNL, ECNL Regional League or Girls Academy. U16 WYSA is a good NLPC team, but no where near the level of the top ECNL teams in NC. Maybe you should ask the girl who left Courage and get opinion. I am sure she won't hide the fact that the skill level is night and day difference.

Hopefully, WYSA gets seeded in a quality bracket at some showcases like NCFC or Jeff Cup, but I doubt they will get the opportunity. WYSA just beat NCFC Gold North 2-1 in NLPC play. You do realize this NCFC Gold North team is just a regional classic team, right? All the top NCFC Gold North players from last year moved up to NCFCs Elite and Premier teams that compete in ECNL Regional League. Nevermind that NCFC has two other teams (NCFC and Courage) in ECNL. CSA has an ECNL and two ECNL Regional League teams.

The U16 State Rankings based on results and level of competition played:

                            1) CSA ECNL
                            2) NC Courage ECNL
                            3) NC Fusion ECNL
                            4) NCFC ECNL
                            5) CSA Blue ECRL
                            6) CISC ECNL
                            7) NCFC Elite ECRL
                            8) WHYFC ECNL
                            9) CSA White ECRL
                            10) Wake FC GA
                            11) NCFC Premier ECRL
                            12) NC Fusion ECRL
                            13) CISC ECRL
                            14) WYSA Explosion

No, the poster is correct. They added 2 NCFC ECNL girls, one from the 06 team and one from the 07 team. They added four new kids all of whom play up the middle. Only time will tell how good this team is.
