College coaches could care less about the scores. They're there to see specific players who reached out to them first. Sometimes a player catches their eye and they'll reach out to them, but for the most part they have a shopping list. Scores are purely for club bragging rights. Organizers try to match semi-similar quality teams to hopefylly avoid ugly blowouts. But even if your team is getting crushed and you play great, never give up? that coach will keep you on his list. In the end that is all that matters - did coaches come watch you play and do you move forward in discussions?

After a year of Covid and dead recruiting, teams are thankful for the opportunity. Decisions were made at the time given the circumstances at the time. If CA hadn't opened up, GA would be looking at another Showcase catastrophe like the TX weather issue.
