    Florida Cup vs State Cup

If teams are interested in actually being recognized as the best in the State then FYSA State Cup is the only way to go. Twice the amount of teams as Florida Cup

    And better teams by far

If you think either winner of those tournaments can claim themselves as anywhere close to being the best in the state, you're in for one heck of a reality check.

In that competition why not? If teams don't enter then they aren't considered.

LMFAO it’s not worth most teams time. Our second team is in the final four and they haven’t even been tested.

I guarantee there are teams that could beat some ECNL/Mls Next teams.

I’m talking about the state cup jackass. It’s a couple teams trophy hunting and mostly NPL level and below teams.

Clearly said by someone whose kid has never been on an ECNL/MLS team and whose club likely doesn’t offer access to those leagues. Hahaha

So only ECNL/Mls Next clubs can produce good teams?

No, I’m sure your kids team is kicking butt in that third or fourth tier league against teams one step above rec but the big club ECNL/MLS teams generally blow those teams out and give them and more important their parents a nice dose of reality.

This is a sad thread. State Cup was left behind 5 years ago. The OP is coming from a single viewpoint, clearly. ECNL teams, MLS Next teams, even many ECNLR teams (FL Cup) would wipe the floor w FYSA dependent teams. Sorry, it’s not close especially as the players age.

                            How would you rank ODP?

ODP guy, I don’t know if your kids is a boy or girl, however, if they don’t currently play on an ECNL, GA or MLS Next, then ODP is a good place for your kid to get some reps against a different group of players. At the beginning tryouts of ODP you will have a mixed bag of talent. If you make it ast the first round of cuts the competition gets better. Like at the ECNLRL level. If your kid makes it to the state level the team will be like a low level ECNL team or top level RL team. If your kid makes the regional team it will be like you are in a competitive ECNL team. I say go for it if your kid isn’t currently playing on a top level team. It will provide a different set of eyes on your kid and different coaching styles along the way. Also, your kid will have the opportunity to play with players they are not familiar with. The setup is similar to what you will find at college ID camps. You think the experience will s worth it.
