    FL United or FC Prime?

Which club is better for player development and college placement?

    #2
Fu has fields that don’t change every other week, training is great however …
JS doesn’t care about college ( look at the current oldest age grp ) too much , not a fan of high school either

prime by just playing in ecnl will get you hundreds of looks but the team itself is a disorganized mess

    pick your poison

Just be a DP for TBU! It’s awesome, it’s free, and you can play on just about any other team you want!

This is a question that has a nuanced answer.

-If you are a true top end elite tier player than Florida United is better for sure. Much better and focused training and development. Connections and exposure will certainly be adequate to be scouted by USSF and quality college programs. The top end Florida United players are 100% ending up in quality programs and being prepared to compete at the next level. Younger high level players are pushed, and to play up to be challenged.

-If you are a lower end ECNL or GA type player then I would suggest that Prime is probably a better option. The training may be not as strong as FU, and club may have more organizational issues with fields than FU, but Prime has proven to be very good at finding homes at smaller, less prominent programs for the players in their club that are not front line, top tier talent. They have very large commitment numbers the last several years because their wheel house is finding players that want to continue to player soccer....somewhere...a program / destination. Are they all getting "scholarships" or "athletic money?" Probably not, but that's not the end all be all for all players, some just want to keep playing or perhaps gain entry into a school with the help of soccer.

Obviously, there have been several exceptional Prime players (often times that trained and developed elsewhere) that have committed to and are contributing to strong programs as well.

This is just my objective opinion. Bring the hate.

Fl United plays in a second rate league and struggles to beat bottom feeder ECNL clubs. That is not development, look at the struggles of those players in college, only one player played the last 3 years that played at Fl United. also Look at their results against low ECNL FL teams and they struggle to beat them. JS has gone on record saying he doesn't want to play prime teams and they hide from prime every chance they get. If real development was happening then JS wouldn't run away every time AH calls him. JS withdrew his teams from Westin Cup because he was afraid.

Prime would wipe the floor with FU in all age groups. Ask JS why he wont play Prime? Scared to be exposed? See who has more college commitments by a landslide. This is not even close. ECNL vs GA? If you have child has the ability to play and start on a ECNL team you do it. If not go play lower level GA. lf your asking then your either a Troll or haven't done any research on your own. To come on here to get a biased opinion is just dumb.

Think back to last Weston Cup how Prime ECNL had entered teams but were initially placed into b and c level and FU GA was placed in top tier. That is exactly the mentality GA parents have. In the end Prime ECNL did not play in Weston Cup, and even FU GA did not end up playing, at least at 2009. FU has some talent at 2005 and 2006 but they are propped up by once in a lifetime unique talent. FU will ride that luck out until it is gone and then they are not really left with anything. Younger ages have nothing. Prime is where the younger talent is now. That all can change as blocks of parents get upset with playing time and feel disrespected and organize moves to other teams.

The parents on some of the ECNL Prime teams levels has me staying far away from looking into Prime. Also, the lack of fields is ridiculous at a high level like that. .
