    ECNL-R Gets its own Championship!

"Coinciding with the updated ECNL Club Competition postseason structure, the ECNL Regional League will also have an updated postseason structure. For the first time in league history, the ECNL Girls Regional League will host its own postseason division, with Regional League Champions crowned at the ECNL Girls National Playoffs. Details for the updated ECNL Regional League postseason structure can be found here.

During the 2021-22 season, more than 300 teams will qualify for the ECNL Girls National Playoffs across six different age groups. Qualification for the ECNL Girls National Playoffs is earned by performance in all ECNL competitions throughout the 2021-22 campaign, including regular-season matches and ECNL Girls National Events."

ECNL-R gets to play to a National Championship at the ECNL Girls National Playoffs without playing any of the 300 ECNL teams that qualified. Kind of like being in ECNL without being in ECNL!

That ECNL-R scam is very clever on the part of ECNL.

It’s no more of a scam than all the other leagues. It’s what you make of it. It’s pretty new going to take some time to get everything worked out. If you don’t like it then stop paying for it. Still play some good teams and bad ones just like in ECNL or gal.

If you win a tier 2 championship do you put a star or 1/2 a star?

That’s a good question. What about being the top Fl ECNL team would you put a garbage can on your Jersey and would it be half full or filled to the top with trash.

Good in concept. Very lucrative for the ECNL. For the ECNL-R players: not good at all for the ECNL-R championships to be played at same time/place as ECNL championships.

From a college scouting perspective, coach gets out of their rental car, grabs their tablet and folding chair, heads to the fields and sees an arrow pointing to the ECNL-R fields and an arrow pointing to the ECNL fields. Which direction do you think they are going?

If you are Pasco Hernando State College - you’ll go to ECNL-R because no one from ECNL is going there.

You know nothing about college scouting. Takes a lot more then one weekend of soccer to get excepted or even looked at. It takes parents that are willing during the off season to fly to all the ID camps meet and greet. Takes hours of video and building lots of connections starting when your kid is playing 9v9. I also forgot to mention the kid needs to have some talent. Just because your kid plays ECNL it has a very small contribution in the long run. If your kid is good they will find you makes no difference what league you play in.

It’s in Seattle? Who the heck would want to go there? Who is getting a payday in that state to bring all the ECNL kids and the parents checkbooks.

This is only the second season ECNLR has existed. Take a look at how many girls that play for the schools that you listed. You will find that most of them never played ECNL. It’s easy to look up. You will be really surprised.
