Mark Christensen has been seen on the parent sidelines at the Woodruff Farm complex in Columbus. The scene of the crime back in 1998, an adult soccer match gone violent, that resulted in his felony conviction and prison sentence. Seems he had a child before his departure from GA who is now playing GU10 academy at CYSA. Heard the parents down there are not amused. Another reason to get state cup back in Atlanta.

    he is a predator

This guy is a predator who preys on young women and a violence against women and men. Look at the letters he wrote her from prison? Is that not a crime? He was grooming this child as her coach and had clearly called sexy, angel etc. Why isnt there a crime being committed there. He has been doing this for years and I have proof. He needs in jail.

Letter #1 from M ark C hristensen while in prison to 14 year old girl

    April 30

    Hi Angel,

I've been thinking about how you
promised me a good picture, maybe even one
of that whole (sexy-body). I really do
thank you for writing, and almost thinking
about what I'am doing. I am sorry we never
    did get to run.

I've be following your team, and
you've done great, I would except
nothing less. Your so-so special and one
day I'am going to get a chance to let
you know in person. Playing in Atlanta
would be a good move for you. There's
no one in Columbus who's useful in my
    opinion. (R*** I*** Loser)(L****** Loser)
    (B**** W*** Loser)(B** K**** Loser)(M** Loser)
These so called men are useless
human's who should be caned to death.
You should be on the "A' Team in Atlanta.
Theirs nothing "B" team about you Sweetheart.

Its true I've been getting mail but
none from you, I know you working
on that I.d. problem. Happy Birthday
Sorry I'am writing in the dark its sloppy!
I have your photo right next to Ashley
on the end of the Bed.

    Miss You

I was by hoping by now your mother
could this story on 20/20 niteline.
Please stay out of trouble, and remember
    I'am always thinking about you.
Keep the good thoughts and remember
all the good times we had. Work on
that left foot, and those long passes.
I pray you get a chance to
live your dreams. I'll always be
their for advice if you need. Just drop
me a line, and don't worry about
being too mushy in your letters.

Stay special, and don't let your
ego run to wild. Again nice job
    at H******* this season I'am
proud of you. I'am glad you care!

    Love you

    M ark
    See you soon

    June 4 (Nite)

    Hi Sunshine

Super! I won't take credit for your
success because its all you baby. Remember
bibb city the first time your mother carried (you)
to training. I always felt you were special.
Sometimes my guess is excellent. Boy! you
look so sexy in that picture in shorts.
I'am sure by the time you get this letter
you will have made the lightning squad.
Smart move to get away from Columbus (CYSA).
Really glad you took some time to write to me
and don't think you need a reason to drop
me a note, even if its just to say something nice.
I do owe you a big hug and kiss for even
    thinking about calling me. Thanx
Whats the summer look like for you, any
    plan's yet? All-Chattahoochee mama that's
surely you. However their are a few big
misprints on the list, M**** H***, Moose L****,
M**** W*****, must be kidding. Funny thing the last
time I remember even looking at the news/sports
    R. L*** was on the highlights she let the ball
go right thru her paws, playoff game they lost.
I really do miss you very much and wish
we had spent more time together.
    Again/Nice job/Tan looks good

Please stay away from the bad elements
you know what I'am saying. No trouble!
    We both don't need problems!!

I would love to tell you prison is treating
me better but that just won't be honest.
Its very dangerous, and many gang sex
rapes, which you don't need to hear about.
This place really blow's big time, thugs everywhere
and the stories I have for you, are just
    unbelievable to say the least.

Well your my 1st choice for Rookie of
the Year. And Most Valuable Person as well.
You will be very good at serious business
soon. And don't underestimate your true
capabilities. Their is one special request I
have and you can handle it. I need (2)

    Miss you Sweetie
    Good luck
    Love ya

tryouts. I'am Sure you would have
been selected. Your very good sweetie!

Nobody can replace you, your so
special, all the kids I've coached over
the years you have just touched my heart
and I always regret no spending
more time with you. When I leave here
I will have some hours open for you
if your not too very busy. Maybe then
we can have that long fun & talk.

This place is safer and food is a little better
Sorry I haven't been their for your nightly calls.

I really did enjoy watching you
play basketball. Even better that one on one
game you beat me at, please take
it easy on me. You don't owe me
anything, but I would love to have
those dinners with you. I enjoy
    your silly p.m.s. moods always.

Your soccer for the future may be a
little tricky for awhile so hang in their.
Columbus has nothing to offer sweetie.
It would be nice if you stayed
in touch and feel free to ask me anything
its our business ok. If you have
a left foot I really need to see you
in action thats for sure. I look forward
to that day! I don't have time to
write as often to my friends, because
I work all day. However I will
write you back always I promise.
If though your a big cheat and
two timer. I really miss that
pretty face, and happy smile. Stay out
of trouble please and pray for my release.

Would you like to visit some time?
    Stay Special Honey

US Club's revocation of Mark Christensen's coaching credentials must be eminent. Mark Christensen has not been listed as the Michigan Future Stars coach of his Boys Under 11 and 14 teams in any of the tournaments they have participated in since around the beginning of this year. Does he think he is fooling anyone?

    More of the same

One of the all-time most infamous youth soccer coaches to hit Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan, Mark Christensen, has very likely been immortalized as a bad guy in a book written by a Michigan youth soccer coach, Gary Maccagnone. The book, "St. John of the Midfield" is the story of an immigrant who becomes a youth soccer coach, and, get this, the book's nemesis is named "Sonny CHRISTOPHER". Maccagnone's sons played at Utica Eisenhower H.S. when head boys' soccer coach Chris Corteg was reprimanded and temporarily suspended by the Utica school board for allowing his buddy Christensen to work as assistant coach. During disciplinary hearings, Corteg admitted to the school board that he knew of Christensen's felony conviction prior to hiring him as an assistant.

Georgia Coach Receives 10-Year Prison Sentence
    April, 1999

Mark Christensen, Director of Training for the Columbus Youth Soccer Association, has been found guilty of aggravated battery by a Muscogee County Superior Court jury and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The sentence, of which nine years must be served before Christensen, 41, is eligible for parole, also carries another 10 years probation.

The charge resulted from a punch Christensen threw during an adult indoor soccer game on January 28, 1998 in the Columbus State University gymnasium. That punch broke the left eye socket of Chris Fagerberg, 34. Christensen was charged with aggravated battery. The jury found him guilty of felony battery, and had the option of also finding him guilty of the lesser charge of misdemeanor battery or acquitting him of all charges.

Fagerberg also has a civil suit pending against both Christensen and CYSA.

During the trial prosecutors presented a list of a half-dozen convictions, arrests and allegations of battery and assault against Christensen in an attempt to establish a pattern of violent behavior over an extended period of time. Among those called to testify against the coach was his former wife, Lynda Christensen, who told of incidents of spousal abuse and battery, including an April 3, 1996 incident in which she alleges that her husband choked, hit and kicked her.

Christensen was hired by CYSA without an extensive background check, which would have shown a number of suspensions by state and local soccer groups in states outside Georgia. Christensen was suspended in 1993 when he was a coach, by the Michigan Youth Soccer Association, for verbally attacking officials at a tournament in Ohio, and was suspended again in 1995 for coaching his Michigan youth team in violation of the 1993 suspension.

At the time of sentencing Judge Robert Johnston said, "Mr. Christensen has been throwing punches for 20 years, and he 's finally come somewhere he can't throw punches any more - the bar of justice."
